So, bikes in the garage, filters fitted. I think i'll put the bike back on the abba stand, But i need to move the bike to the side so the kids can still get their bikes in.

This is where it happens. I move the bike back quite fast and hear crunch. Its the bloody disklock against the front mudguard. which know has a lovely 6 inch crack in it.

i don't want an aftermarket carbon one or anything so i phone George Whites. £106 quid !!! luckily chap on the phone recognises my voice and it's now £95 quid.

while on the suzuki website i see a nice blue rear hugger, am wondering about that, not too sure how it would look as a swap for the black one.

moral of the story, patience is a virtue

damn expensive stuff up and on the hugger black look's the best in my opinion it'll be a bit of a blue overload with a blue hugger too imho.

£106 pounds is extortionate, £95s too steep too in my opinion for a mudguard. Have you consulted ebay yet?

We've all done it though, I've forgot about a disklock before but was lucky that I didn't cause any damage.

alarmed disc lock is what you need...when you move the bike, it'll go off!

+1, all i need to do is rock my bike and it goes off, if i still forgot about it i shouldnt be touching the bike!

I got one of those stretchy cord things which is attached to the disc lock with the other end hooked round one of the hand grips. Cheaper option than getting an alarmed one.

my disk lock alarm was only £20 of ebay granted it was reduced but thats no more than normal disk locks and it is still sold secure

Thoroughly taken back! Last time I looked they were £80-£90.

£95! Bloody hell... Trouble is they're not common used either, because everyone breaks them :( Is it repairable? It'd leave a visible break but that's not too bad usually.

there's a visible 6 inch crack on the left hand side when looking directly at the muguard. In fairness no plastic is missing and its still perfectly rideable but i can't stand the thought of it being broken :pale:

i have checked ebay but theres only the aftermarket carbon ones on there or unpainted ones (albeit cheaper), but i watn the OEM blue.

i hadn't considered an alarmed disk lock so may get one likewise the cord to remind me would be a good short term idea.

You don't need more than one disklock they're pretty pointless anyway. For £20 it's probably worth it but I wouldn't spend more.

Just ordered a Tech 7 one of these, not bad value, as it's for a supermoto thing I can't see me fitting a normal alarm.

Cheers Mark.

You've got to be really careful with offroad style bikes, extremely nickable. Could tell you some horror stories...

I didn't ever get my front mudguard fixed when I did the disc lock maneuver with my old bike, too expensive.

found my old golf powakaddy, battery and bag in the garage this evening - this is going on ebay tomorrow to pay for it - never play golf anymore :o
