I want a new horn thats louder then the standard horn on my FZ1. I am howver very lazy and want to be able to just unplug the stock horn and attach the new one to the same connector.

Can anyone suggest a loud horn that will just plug into where the existing one is?

Ta very much.:batman:

if you find one let me know as I've been avoiding "the install a proper horn" task for a few months but come bike season again I'll need to get it sorted

just buy a stebel nautilus and be done with it, might take you a half hour to fit but the resulting noise is just awesome:D

it'll take us more than half an hour mark :)

Take all fairing off
Take Tank off
Run cables
Fit relay
Find space to hide the relay

trust me on this bike it'll be more like 2hrs :(

and I reckon we are both trying to avoid this like the plague :D

Get an SV and a Stebel Nautilus then :)

hahaha we both upgraded from that to the FZ1S's :D

wouldn't mind one though for thrashing....like the thou though for those long trips 2-up

Stebel do, do a light version of their horns that is just a uprated 12 horn, have a look on the site.

then i suggest one of these and some duck tape:

should be plenty of bare plastic to stick it to on them yammys;)

Stebel Magnum is usually a bolt-on replacement with no relay needed. Though quite a few people fit relays with them to be on the safe side. I've had no problems with mine without a relay, though it's on a Speed Triple rather than an SV.

Right thanks guys. I'm gonna order one of these (http://www.nippynormans.com/prodinfo.asp?number=STB-MAG&variation=&aitem=3&mitem=7).

Its says its simple to fit with the supplied connectors - and as said above no mention of relays. I've got to take the farings off in spring to remove my heated clothing harness and wash all the acf50 off - so i'll fit it then.

Gotta love this website - i get more specific Fazer advice on here than i do on www.foc-u.co.uk (http://www.foc-u.co.uk).

The Magnum's a bit bulkier than a standard electromagnetic horn, but makes a LOUD parp! Straight swap for the standard squeaky horn on my bike.

So, for the benefit of those of us who aren't FZ1 owners, can the lazy man (me in this instance) just whack a Magnum negative relay on an SV and enjoy the parpiness?

One magnum #should# be alright with stock SV wiring, or indeed FZ wiring. It's when you go to multiple ones or bigger than that that you need a relay.
