As I'm now bikeless i've obviously been looking around for a new one for the summer...and I've decided its 99% going to be an SV so been keeping my eyes open...

And then suddenly my friend dragged me car shopping and I have found a really nice car..and I'm actually thinking of buying it.

Can someone post something that will get the notion of buying the car out of my head please !

I think i've gone mad!

Wait a bit.

Car value will drop to a value where the owner will pay you to take it away.

Then buy both :D

dave you have an exellent name so you are obviously a man of taste and wisdom so i will forgive ur moment of madness, now remenber that time that w***** in the cage tried to cut you up or that time that other d*** pulled out on you without looking, do you want to become like them, its a slippery slope.
other factors traffic, enjoyment ,that feeling of pleasure that u've been on your bike even if it was just the ride to work( dont get that in a cage)
):smt075 get a hold of yourself man

A decent SV will set you back a certain amount - decided by you - whereas you can get a car for any amount - a pound or less - so buy the SV and get a car with the change.

It's having your cake and eating it.

She's right you know. Bikes have handlebars and screen edges for them to sit on and twitter away while they crap on your fuel tank - most cars don't even have a gutter to get a grip on nowadays so the poor liddle burdies have to find alternative toilet arrangements.

Buy the bike and save a little bit of nature from constipation.

+1. Buy a slightly older/lower spec SV and get a cheap but reliable/practical car. Unless you spend (comparatively, compared to a bike) a lot of money, a car isn't going to be particularly exciting, so you may as well just get something practical for moving things/people round, use when it's really icy, etc.

That said, car prices are getting silly. I walk past a used car lot daily and prices just keep falling. There are about 3 in there that I quite fancy that have all fallen below 1K, all three were previously near the £2k mark a couple of months back. I am quite tempted...

Ah its an RX8 I've seen on 21k miles for 8995 top spec model.
But I don't know if I could live a whole summer off a bike.

All of those comments saying girls like bikes.....You are on a bike forum so you know...biased :p My gf *hates* bikes.

Anyway thanks for replies :D

Soulkiss has a SV650 you could buy! And I +1 the comment that females like bikes. Although, frankly, if I ******* on his bike, he would NOT be happy....

"I'm glad I don't drive around in one of those dangerous car things very much, they're just so vulnerable, they should be banned."

A clever man once said these words!

Hmmm... gotta' ask, would you really be on a bike forum if you didn't like bikes? ;)
Would be interesting to see the response if someone were to ask on a car forum...
