I used tile paint in my previous bathroom... I think it was the plastikote I used and they looked ok to begin with but after a couple of months started peeling and looked awful. I only had tiles on the window ledges so it was a small area... not sure how it`d look if you were painting half a wall. Lot cheaper than re-tiling tho, especially if you`re moving.

yeah, i would just get a good cleaner and really scrub away at them, maybe get some of the grout whitener as well to make it look a tad fresher?

im thinking this, the tiles themselves arnt too bad, with a lick of paint on the walls, new cabinet, new side bath panel etc might be ok, and maybe a a grout pen...see what the boss (mrs) says....

So what's actually wrong with the tiles?

So what's actually wrong with the tiles?

theres not really anything wrong with them, they are a slightly off white colour, with the rest of the suite and walls (bar one which will have wallpaper on) being sparkling white, so the idea behind the paint/spraying them was to get them sparkling white aswell,
the grouts has a few dark bits here and there but again nothing major so id imagine a grout pen may solve this....

its just they dont match the rest of the room....

edit, saying that they didnt when we bought the pace either and we saw past that so maybe its not such a big deal....

Ah right. Most people will see right past that

dont be a tight wad...retile it

PMSL!!! Why?

Well i used to sell property for 15yrs and now i sell bathrooms and kitchns instead.

In all honesty you'll be doing yourself no favours at all. Leave it as it is. Any incoming buyer will want to stamp their personal mark on the place and they do that 1st in the bathrooms and kitchens.
If they see tiles that need replacing they'll allow for that in their decision making. If they see tiles that have been "covered over" with anything they'll wonder just how bad it is under there and let their minds run away with themselves and imagine its a lot worse than just re-tiling.

Honestly just leave it be, its the best thing to do for you and them.

agreed with everyone else, i tile and it can be very cheap indeed if you DIY, your 2 options are to retile in cheepo tiles and new grout or you could just rake and regrout your existing tiles, DONT PAINT THEM, CRAP IDEA LOOKS ****E.

I thought the grout pen was rubbish, really watery, so I used white paint on the grout and wiped off the excess and it looked great.

If you paint the tiles, they will wonder what other shortcuts you have taken, I've never seen it look good to be honest.

Just make sure it's spotless, scrub the tiles and polish em, it'll look much better.
