Just like to say what a fantastic job that pilot did in the Hudson Plane Crash yesterday, there was some skill in putting that down like that. It only takes catching a tip of a wing to mess that up on impact at 150mph.
:notworthy:
I thought the same. I didn't hear much mention of the pilot on the news yesterday.
Apparently a flock of birds took out both engines, over a densly populated area. The plane turned around to head back to the airport, but the pilot obviously realised he didn't have the speed/altitude to glide home, so put it down in the water.
Good show of skill &composure under pressure.
Thats one for the pilots pub! None of this, year i had a near miss...more like, yeah i landed it on water and saved all 150 passengers, and the plaen will probably be ok as well.

Very rare for this to succeed.I do remember one other example when an RAF Nimrod caught fire and they "landed"it on the Firth of Forth with no casualties.Very Impressive.

Should be if they followed .org's advice & used plenty of ACF-50
Is it still floating then?

Held up at the moment, but pollution is now a risk, they have moved it towards the edge and are trying to remove it i think. See Sky News website for recent pic.
It was half full with fuel so not as heavy hence staying afloat :)
Not many can say they have saved everyone. Another thing to note really, how cold that water must've been  4 ft of it in the plane when they were clearing everyone.

Radio said he's the Airline's Safety Expert. If so, just the right guy in the circumstances.
Again, well done!

He was due to be your pilot, but due to recent events he has to attend press meetings.
This is his replacement...
