Well, today I lubed the chain and had a pull on the rear sprocket and the chain felt quite moveable. Checked my history, and after my chain had snapped previously - it was changed at 18,000 miles and it's now showing 34,000! So sprocket and chain change imminent. Quoted £99.00 for same as last time, which for 16,000 miles without a Scottoiler can't be bad.

So I am having the front shocks done at the same time - Hagon springs and oil change - circa 75 squid for bits.

So, let's be honest - she's good for another 16,000!? So that's 50,000 miles - that's another couple-three years for me (us i.e. bike and me!).

Had an R1 parked up alongside me regularly, a Firestorm, a Honda CBR600F, a VFR800 .... and I still love my SV650S. So I guess we are stuck with each other!

Tony from Pendle (Nr Brun Lea), Lancashire!! :)

MIne's gettng close to 50k.

I think I need to learn a bit about chain care, though. About 6-7000 miles on the current chain and there are several tight links. I've been cleaning this chain more often too.

Oh well...

Hi Tony, another Tony from Burnley. Where did you get your quotes? I get my work done at Motolabs opposite Bo Jangles in town. I cant recommend Martin high enough, he knows his stuff and he has a SV1000 himself.
