Are the biggest bucnch of c..........well you get the idea.
So I go there today to buy the 19" LG monitor, go to to tesco direct and they faff around and eventually find a monitor, get to the checkout they want £116 so I said its not that price. They eventually come back to me with still the wrong price, so I blow my stack and shouted the shop assitant down I was angry:smt072
So after an hour I get out of there, got home open the box no stand or VGA cable. I'm gonna back and string that shop assiant by his nuts using the electrixal cable. Lets just say I'm angry:rant:
Normally I don't get mad, but am not happy.

Grrr? I have a feeling none of their staff are trained in any way whatsoever. They expanded so quickly into everything i think you just get the bargain and no customer service.
Go kick some ass on the sabbath :batman::smt040

So you went in on a Saturday, and you got the not so bright college student at your service. Tesco is high on customer service. I worked for them for 5 or so years. They have people on training courses over and over for customer service.
The thing is about Tesco is that you get all the nice helpful people working during the week, and all the spotty teenagers with attitudes working on a weekend.
Go back on Monday and i bet you get a better reception.....oh and be nice, shouting and being rude gets nobody anywhere. The customer may be always right, but that don;t mean you have to suck up to them if they are rude.

Haha, true of everywhere i suppose :p
On the training bit, i know of someone who's been at tesco's since 1992 and had barely any training since the start. (apart from video's with 1980s hair do's about how to climb a ladder when you're working on the tills)
Anyway the moany thing's right enough, we'd all prefer to do something for someone because they're nice, and not because the customer's making a scene.
As for being snotty getting you nowhere? I don't really work with the public, i work with inter-company sales, and they're always snotty ****heads, and being snotty really does get them everywhere :(
go further up the chain... also dont tescos do a refund the difference policy. so if they sell it to you at the wrong price ie displayed you get double the difference

:cool:I work in Tesco
Was barely trained when I started, havn't been since, and I'm the least friendly person known to man with the customers, lol. We do our best for customers who don't blow their top, those ones we ignore, so hence why the poor customer service. Of course "we spotty teenagers" have attitudes, the place sucks and customers suck. Obviously the screen you got was the display monitor, grabbed at the last minute and shoved in a box, it happens. Go back monday, be polite, and it'll work wonders

Tesco employ 1/9th of the UK's working population. This is more than the army. Be careful!

What I didn't mnetion before.....
I was stood in line at the checkout with my stuff along with one of my cloest mates, who was helping me out.
I was waiting not far far off an hour for them to sort this out, I was about to pay when I say it flash up £133 I though thats way too much. they were going to charge me £116 for the monitor when the guy in line next to me was paying that for a 22".
It them 30 mins to figure out they were wrong, them come back saying its err this price I was okay no worries can you check it in line with the web price. 50 mins later after waiting a long time, I spoke to another shop worker who said no its actually this price and thats the way it is.
I got angry casue I waited 50 minutes then some idiot who know less about retail law, decided to mouth off me, at this point I had raised my voice. So i rasied my voice asking them not to talk over to get the manager which they ignorened and carried on talking over me.
So I asked again in a rasied voice to get the manger as after 50 mins they were unable to deal with a simple matter. I mean wtf, I have worked in retail quite a bit and understand it from both sides.
So I evetually paid £89 monitor, some nearly 2 hours later I found out the package is missing key item to make it work, I can't even do a test to ensure it works. That is poor....
Wouldn't you be mad if you have waited an hour, be talked down so idiot who dosn't know what they are talking about, to find out the package is missing key items. I don't expect to go into a store to be verbally abused by the staff members, if I had behaved like that in a simlar job I would have sacked.
Yes I understand what some of the others said, I have had my experince of dealing with members of the public, some who have been phyically violent towards me, but comes with the job.

As dizzyb said getting arsey with them wont help at all, i've worked with the public in one way or another for about 14 years and raising your voice at them will only get their back up adn instantly put you at a disadvantage. Did you desperately need the monitir for that day? If not why not just come back when they're not as busy as saturday is still the busiest day. If the web price was right why didn't you order it off the there?
As for "it come with the job" well that depends on the job doesn't it. Working in a shop i wouldn't expect anyone to start shouting at me. In my opinion you were out of order with your reaction and taking it out on the person in the shop

Right as I alreday said, I got annyoed casue it took then an hour to solve problem which would take 5 minutes to do.
Yes I did need it that day casue I'm not in take a package over the week as I'm at work, that why I went there.
The person that took an hour to do this, said they had worked there for 6 years:rolleyes: Was the bit not seen about them being rude towards to me, when I when asked what was up? I can count one hand how times I have been annyoed by someone in the past 3 years.
Its the fact I have to go back, as its missing item from the box. "as for it comes with the job" I refering to my job alone, no one else. I have worked in various public facing jobs since I was 18.

I work for Sainsbury's, you don't get "effective" training, just chucked in and expected to know. I have my way with computers & a gcse in maths so I was safe!
You don't get that problem in our stores :D
Some holier than thou-ness on here... I'd be very annoyed too, but I probably would have given the sales prevention assistant some advice beginning with F long before, and walked out.

I used to run a car accessory shop and a very busy pub and you never would have caught me talking rudely to a customer unless they had first, even then it's a last resort to try and regain some control/decorum in the proceedings. Once their attention is gained, I would revert back to a calm voice/manner.
I always used to maintain that the customer is not always right but the are ALWAYS the customer. I would've found expected the sales person to find out the correct price when the price was desputed and the number one rule is if they ask for a manager to at least go and speak to the manager as they will know how to solve the issue.
So I go there today to buy the 19" LG monitor, ....
Silly boy, should have gone to Comet (http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/471003/LG-W2234S-BN)* ;)
As for the missing cable, if it was a sealed box then thats not their fault, thats LGs for not checking the package was complete when it left the factory. But Tescos' should replace the whole package and then take it up with LG
*Yeah I know out of stock at present but still cheaper :)

Is that the one that Staples are currently doing for £88?
I went to Staples this morning to get one and came away with the 22" version for £117 instead :D
Right at the limit of my graphics card's supported resolution (1680 x 1050 at 60Hz). Now looking for new graphics card
@TEC
The one I got at Staples is the W2242S with contrast ratio of 8000:1 - looks superb

I got this bad boy instead http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-1369.aspx seems to being working fine. I don't have space for a 22" monitor the 19" just fits into space! Oh I paid £89 for it.
However they forgot to give me the remote control:rolleyes: I'll call em and ask them to post it, I have been to that store 3 times in less than 24 hours.
