It was stumbling across this site and seeing a pic of this bike that sparked my interst in SV's......lovely.....untill I also discovered they came with curves;)

cheeky bugger, I scraped knuckles for hours polishing those forks by hand, they were knackered, and the rims, and theres a new shock and forks springs, cowl, Gladys on the rack, hugger, new engine, chromw infills and that billet yoke, did you have one o those.....

yeah i had a nightmare with viper and the connecting pipes they kept sending me, just weren't machined properly and didn't fit no matter what i tried. Ended up just sticking it directly on the exhaust hence the rather wierd angle!

SV is a pain because the exhaust has to go through the arm. SV1k has the cylinder offset the other way round.

the 2003 R1 with LED rear light. thinking soon about brace swingarm, and those forks arent quote on their yet, just machining a new top yoke.
although this has turned into the work horse as im building a new fighter now.

Well that is a SV1000S so the swingarm is standard and the front forks are off of a GSXR750 (KY-K2) with GSXR1000 calipers (K1-K2).

Why the single front brake northy, is it to do with caliper overhauls while keeping the bike on the road.

It once had a shiny downpipe that lasted all of an afternoon...while it was sat in my back yard!

It still amazes me that it is still attached! If anyone wants one, I can make up some more for £20 a throw :twisted: (I think we still have the one we made for Speedy's bike which inspired Y-C)

It does get maintained far more than most of the POS shiny bikes on here. I far prefer to spend time riding the bike than polishing it.
I have a "special" RD400E which is very nice, but not road legal yet lol.
It has some interesting modifications, and more to come... which will not be visible either :twisted: How long till the crank explodes... nobody knows :-P
