The K3 model onwards has the sportier look (Mods , can we move this to SV talk :))

The sportier bodywork? That depends on you.
SV650S from 99-02 was basically the same, you can get half faired, fully faired, or half with a belly pan and all sorts. The pointy SV (02on) has been upgraded a few times.
Just google them to find the one you like, or autotrader, whatever :p

Thanks a lot, would you say it is as sporty as the GSXR?

No its not, if you get lowers on the K3 onwards bikes, it does look a little more sporty, but its not GSXR looking IMHO.

I've moved your posts into the right section, you'll get more help if you put your questions in the right place on the forum...

Not really, they're different bikes, but it's still sporty :p it's a popular track bike so i guess that's sporty.

edit: mr mod moved the post after i posted but you get the point :) thanks mod.

Google SV650, you will see the two types (Curvy/Pointy) and you can judge for yourslef which is sportier. Bear in mind the SV is not a super sports bike, it is a learner friendly sports tourer.

Dude my bike which you sat on is the Pointy so you get the idea of the looks ect. Them come in various colours, I got the blue as I really liked the colour.

Like you were saying if you have about £1000 to spend on a bike a curvey may be the way ahead, then spend the rest on some descent kit, my personal feelings are that you have to be comfy so good kit is worth the money.

That should answer the question about what you can ride after the test, http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/LearnerAndNewDrivers/RidingMotorcyclesAndMopeds/DG_4022568but 33bhp SV does work really well.
