I was thinking we could meet up at chew valley lake area!
Great roads and scenery to be had here. Dundry offers views over whole of bristol and great opportunities for pics. Lakeside parking means good options for pics also. Theres a cafe at Chew Valley lake, so a good stop for those who need refreshments after coming a bit further afield. Lets send the roar of SV's through the south of bristol areas!
Chew valley lake is often a stop off for Subaru 'drive' outs. Lets give em a rivalling roar!
Time wise: 12pm meet up time. Allow the riders who have come from further afield to stop for a bit, grab some munchables and we set out for 1pm. Im open to suggestions for route taking. Dundry is a must stop for pics though.
The list begins here:

I shall defo be on this one, when i lived at my parents (garden backs onto dundry hills) I used to go running up round dundry....good roads IIRC around the lake and all the way out to blagden...
Hovis or anyone else that is coming from that way, I live close to Junction 17 M5, so if it would help I can meet you and we ride onto Chew Valley Lake
Phaelok, wheres the meeting point? that long road that the lake goes under with the parking on either side?
Phaelok
20-01-09, 11:05 AM
The meeting place will be one of two places.
The one youre talking about - that bridge over the lake with parking. Good photo opportunity for group there.
Or the actual cafe by the lake, lots of parking space there and good views also. Probably more ideal as people will need a spot of munching and possibly a tinkle before continuing on the ride.

junction 17 M5 is cribbs causeway....about 7 mins from my house!
jn 18 M5 is avonmouth can meet there no probs ...although i dont know it that well as in a meeting place...but i guess after coming off of j18 M5 you'd then go onto the portway so could meet there...
but....
what about meeting at j19 services (portbury)...easy meeting place...can go any of the above ways then and we can cut up round the back instead of major roads....

this is what we would have to do if going to yours....(or hovis as it was aimed at....dont expect i got an invite:smt019)
surely it is a more direct route to Chew from here.If you head direct from Portbury were you still going to head across to Churchill ,or go towards Winford via Failand

I used it with the GixerJunkies, it was a fast group at a pace I was comfortable with but having to concentrate so much on what the dude behind you is doing saps your concentration. Plus I had an amateur racer behind me so he kept dropping right back then screaming it to ctch up with us all. I kept thinking he had stopped or something, until I'd see him approaching me at well over ton on the back wheel!!!
