I like that Heston Blumenthal, his in search of perfection program was mad, but still kind of cool. "Not even I can write a recipe that starts with hire a JCB" And he did officially run the best restaurant in the world, which is not bad. But he knows **** all about little chefs I reckon. You only go there because you can't face food.

I thought little chief is where people went to die??? :)

The boss of the company is a complete and utter ****.

ANYONE who uses the phrase "Blue sky thinking" in regular speech just needs shooting and someone else taking their place.

For goodness sake, I'm watching it now, they have just come out of the first taste of the "New dishes" including hot-pot with an oyster, and using dry ice for the pudding and the guy says he was dissapointed that the dishes were not dramatic!

Heston's a star and he's an effin good chef.

Haven't done the Fat Duck (yet) but the Hind's Head is food heaven. Lush.

Heston is quality, totally unique, the boss of Little Chef, what a ****!....

agreed people dont want all that razamataz at little chef, stick to the basics, make the quality better, the portions a bit smaller and clean the cobwebs out the corners eeewww....see what he comes up with tonight, i thought it was a very good programme!

I loved it and cringed all the way through - the top dude is clearly a grade 1 n0b!!

And poor old Heston clearly has mis-understood what people go in a little chef for though......

A tasty burger or a fry up would be lovely, just improve the quality.

Loved the bloke who started there on 90p an hour and has dedicated his entire working life to Little Chef as it was always his ambition.

I watched all three episodes. I must say i judged Heston before wathcing the show thinking he was a ponsy, gimmicky chef, but really he's not. I think he done a good job with the time and limited budget he had.
The owner of little chef is crooked. He was obviously using Heston as a marketing idea, and was not serious about putting it forward in other stores. He wanted to introduce a new menu just after the shop was refitted, and the show was made. That cannot be a coincidence, he was using Heston.

totally agree,...however he did say on cam that he would roll it out throughout the country if popum (sp?) was in profit after the 3 months..which ends on the 01st march...its looking like a few .orgers will be there on the 28th feb, although some in cars...if that weasel faced nob goes back on his word little chef is as good as finished

Do you not think that it will be unrealistic to makea profit in 3 months?
He said the branch was making a moderate loss. They've just spent a lot of money on refitting the store and developing the menu. Their profit margins are now a lot lower with the increased food costs. I think if it would make a profit, it would be after a longer period than 3 months.
It would take a lot of time and money to train the 'chefs' in other branches, and they cannot physically cook most of the food untill the kitchen is refitted.

very true..maybe i worded it wrong, i should have said profitable rather than in profit as its a big difference lol, but it was glaringly obvious it was a marketing scheme....i just hope the proof is in the eating..so to speak!
