just tightened my chain by moving the rear wheel back i measured it after tightening and it was 22mm from plate end to end of swing arm both sides. but to be on the safe side what should i look out for if i done it wrong eg alignement, over tightened (63 nm) so on and so forth
cheers

Main danger is hung over mechanics.
Don't over tighten the chain, and turn both adjusters the exact same amount. Plenty oil on the chain is more important than having the tension exactly right, the last time I saw your chain it had more stiff links than moving ones!
Torque the nut, but to maybe 58nm if you have used copperslip or other grease on the threads.

Yeah if you balls up the alignment it will be very wierd.
Too tight it will lock the suspension up at part-travel and knacker the chain very quickly.
I used to have a picture of what happens if your chain is too loose.... a friend of mine lost his chain on the snake pass...I say lost, it came off the sprocket and wrapped itself firmly around his foot. If he hadn't have been wearing steelies he'd not have had many toes left!!

Dave,
String aligning is the best way to get it all lined up properly. A paddock stand is money well spent.
£18 for a Loobman oiler (if a Scottoiler or similar is out of reach)and a few more for 4 litres of supermarket brand engine oil (that is all that is needed) will help keep a chain in good nick for a long time.

Make sure that the chain movement is between 20mm and 30mm 1/2 way between the sprockets and the rear axle nut should be 65nm but I'm sure 2 out aint going to make much difference
