Is it a special one or something?
What with this exchange rate?

If it's an aftermarket system it's probably going to be light enough whatever, it's the size of the boxes that might be the main cost. They have to be quite big! I think you might pay something like $100, give or take a bit. That's just the postage, nothing about import tax or VAT.
I paid about £40 for import tax when I brought mine but i'd expect a full system to be double. Plus the exchange rate is carp at the mo.

The headers are the biggest bit btw, they take a surprisingly lage amount of box-room. I still have the box in my flat, that carried my Yoshi headers back over christmas (an 'official' Yoshi box, i.e. the size they'd ship them in). It's big enough that we couldn't find any suitcases that would fit the box. I think the box itself had dimensions of 14" x 16" x 26", so approx 36cm x 41cm x 66cm.
This is the size of box I got from Yoshimura. The 600rr exhaust came built up and is a very funny shape so the box is huge......you could easily get a full system in it.
The box for my old SV blue flame is next to it and tiny in comparison.
This cost £24 to post. Its done on size not weight as its the space it take up in the plane that cost money.

I posted a full system up to Scotland and it cost about £20. Wrong direction and not far enough but posting is not always as expensive as you think it might be.

The Yoshi box you've got there is similar to the size of the one that contained my headers, actually. Maybe a bit smaller (doesn't look as tall) but a good one for comparison. I don't think they would pack a full system in the one that I got though, because the parts would be too close together & to the sides (if they fitted - it would be close just because of the shape of the parts). I got the can in a box similar to your blueflame one, again maybe a bit bigger. It's possible they'd send two packages if I ordered a full system in one go, not really sure on that one!
How come your bike's black now?
That yoshi box is almost entirely filled with expandable foam lol.

my nephew ordered his honda civic vvti full s/steel system from across the pond and even with the duty was still half the price i would have been here.

HMCE are wise to this trick now, they tend to open the boxes and make an assumption.

And if they find out that it WASN'T a gift they can do you for fraud.

...and Tax evasion.
2.3 Are import duties and import VAT always payable?
No. Customs duty is waived if the amount of duty is less than £7.
Import VAT is not payable on:
commercial consignments eg goods purchased over the internet with an intrinsic value not exceeding £18, but this does not include alcohol, tobacco products, perfume or toilet waters
gifts, excluding alcohol, tobacco, perfumes and toilet waters, with a value not exceeding £36 and which comply with the rules shown in paragraph 2.4.
There are a number of other circumstances where relief from some or all customs charges may be available. If you think your goods may be eligible for a relief you should contact the National Advice Service for further information.

2.4 Gifts
Goods sent as a gift are not free of import duties and import VAT. However, customs duty will not be collected if the amount is less than £7, and import VAT is not chargeable if:
the value of the gift does not exceed £36
the customs declaration is completed correctly
the gift has been sent from a private person outside the EU to a private person(s) in this country
the gift is for the use of either yourself or your family
there is no commercial or trade element and the gift has not been paid for either directly or indirectly
the gift is of an occasional nature only eg for a birthday or anniversary.
Please note the purchase of goods from outside the EU to give as a gift to a relative or friend, whether or not addressed to that person, is treated as a ‘commercial consignment’ for which the import VAT relief threshold is £18 (paragraph 2.3 refers).

Same here :D you mean the expandable foam peanuts I take it? To be fair, most of it has to be that....the shape is just such that it does actually take that size of box to properly pack the items, it's just to make it into a "box" shape it needs all that extra space.

Ah ok, think I saw you mention that somewhere actually, not sure if here or CBR forum or somewhere else lol...

Indeed...it's a known thing now...but they haven't cottoned on to people going over there and bringing stuff back that much. I brought my box back (looked like yours) outside a suitcase (wouldn't fit) and they didn't bat an eyelid through 'nothing to declare' ;)

The trick is to have it sent to a friend in the US and then have them send it to you.
New or not...if it's declared a gift from an individual (ie: not a corporation) with a residential address...it's a gift. (providing they don't declare too much value on it)

Lol...not sure I get what you mean...the box had gone through security on the other side (to get on the plane) so was obviously 'safe' (the US don't care about UK import taxes).
The guys on the customs side in England tend to be more after stuff like drugs, tbh, hence the sniffer dogs. Not sure if they are being lax or not as I'm not sure how far the dogs can smell :D

Ideally.... you need to remove all previous shipping labels and make sure there are no invoices in or on the box.
Including a birthday card or some such doesn't hurt either.
Something of that size is more likely to be checked....especially if it's in a new looking corporate logo box.
If you really want to do this and need help on this end PM me.
so whats the plan?
pay through paypall then just hope it turns up?
If its titanium it will not be cheaper to bring over. It wil almost definately volume out and they will charge you the volumetric weight for the parcel. That could be a huge cost!
PM me the size and actual weight and where its from and I will look into it ok.
And if its not a rush job I may be able to help another way....
he said he would add $40 to ship to UK

Thanks for calling attention to that.
First off......
My above post mentions only the giving of advice.
It does in no way suggest or imply the actual planning of, or shipping of any goods to the UK to avoid any applicable taxes or tariffs.
Are we all happy now????
Even so........
There is no law that says I can't send a mate in the UK some bike bits as a birthday gift.
I like Hovis...He's the BanannaMan UK operative!
(He recently had the banannaman suit on in his avatar!)
There to fight crime, evil, injustice, chavism and the unjust policies of the north wales police dept traffic division. :batman:
Nope...No laws against birthday gifts to a fellow wearer of the yellow cape (or to friends on the .org).
(FYI.. There are several banannaman ops stationed around the globe so all may sleep well tonight) ;)
