By the way, have you seen the position of the gear change lever?
Only rode it yesterday for the first time and almost had to break my foot to change up the gears!
Think i might go out and move it now while I think on.

The firestorm looks lovely.... a good few years back I had a go on one, was a bit big but other than that a lovely bike

Er, might have had something to do with the cam chain tensioner breaking on the front cylinder and costing me £800 to put it right (its a regular thing apparently)
Twas a bit quick though!
Had a Benelli Tornado Rs before that. The noise off that triple used to make your hair stand on end! Have a listen!

Whilst you're there, check all the other bolts for torque. I know a couple of bikes that have come out of A&D with bolts that vibrated loose. One was a brand new ZX636, and by the time he'd got to the A5, he'd lost his right rearset!!

Heres a few pics for the lads I met at the ponderosa on Sunday.
These pics were taken about a week after i got the bike. The right hand side looked a lot less sparkly after i dropped it on the trackday!

Yeah, nice to ride and look at, and a lovely sound. Every time you parked up somewhere, there was always a crowd around it when you came back. One time I came back to it, I was trying to get to the bike and some guy pushed me and said "wait your turn mate, you can get closer when ive had a good look".
Bad bits:
£420 for a service, group 17 insurance, 30mpg, toasts your **** if you stop for more than a minute (radiators under the seat), rear brake caliper is in a stupid place (i knocked mine on a kerb), too many nuts/tank interfaces (have you seen the shape of the tank). Extreme **** ache after 20 miles (look at the seat pad).
Apart from that, "sweet"

I would have had to have a Fist to Jaw interface right about then

Lol, it was kinda cool though having a crowd around it.
A lot of the people werent even bikers, everyone used to drool over it.
I remember one couple looking at it in Chester. He was asking loads of questions, and his wife said to me "can I sit on it". Well, being the nice guy I am, I said "course you can". I kept talking to the hubby, (who had a kwacker ZX6R), then she turned to him and said "why cant you get a bike like this instead of that green thing youve got".
It was really hard trying not to laugh whilst we were talking.

"why cant you get a bike like this instead of that green thing youve got".
"Because you keep spending it all on stuff like shoes"

A pair for going out, and a pair of slippers for staying in. :)

The firestorm was a great bike when it was running ok. Sounded amazing with the Carbon can Co exhausts on it too.
The fans on the Tornado do look good. When they are not cooling, they sort of freewheel so you can see the blades better. Loads of people used to ask what they were for, was it some kind of new exhaust? or a supercharger perhaps? lol :)

how do you find the kawasaki? ive been mulling over the idea of another sv as an everyday bike to keep the buell for the weekends, but i realy like he naked er6s..

I just open the garage door and its sitting there! :D
Seriously though, Its a great bike. Very solidly built and well thought out. Its my second one. I had a naked one about three years ago, but prefer the faired version.
You can ride this bike all day with no aches and pains. Fuel consumption is amazing too. Its not quite as smooth as the SV in the engine department, but the suspension is a lot firmer (read better).
If you want one, Kawasaki direct (search on the internet) in Watford sell them much cheaper than anyone else. I think they have a few left now at £3999 on the road.
One word though, get last years model, not the '09' bike, its far inferior to the old bike. Ive ridden one!

Quite welcome to have a go on mine before you make your mind up.
Forgot to mention, Kawasaki direct have an offer on, of free delivery within the Uk, and 30 months interest free credit at the moment. Thats worth a few bob!
Ive had four bikes off them now. Great people to deal with. Ask for Lyndsay, and tell her Les from North Wales sent you!
