Didnt they just buy MV Agusta?Serious potential for bankruptcy there.

yes they did. As part of it they bought Cagiva as well, which doesn't bode well. Bad enough getting the Raptor parts as it is, without HD falling flat on its face and killing them all.

the tractors are overpriced rust buckets anyways. Their paint is worse than Suzukis finest emusion :-) Oh and their chrome, and their nuts n bolts are made out of the most corrosive metal possible.... which is why all tractor riders only come out in summer.

Harley, benelli, mv augusta, keyway (?) and probably more. Serious job losses going on :(. Infact my cousin works for benelli, could be bad news for him and his family.
Brilliant news though eh

I was actually being serious. My sons godfather has owned three HDs. One he paid some 18 grand for. It was a 100th anniversary limited edition soemthing or another. It was absoultely gorgeous. It spent more time in a vaccum bag than it did ont road. he did 4000 miles on it, dry roads only, and the paint started falling off. Seriously. He ended up in some war with them over it, as they refused to accept liability for it...even went higher up the chain than the local dealer.
And as for the nuts n bolts, Im Indoors ended up rebuilding the dyna lowrider( the guy had before the 100th) after he got thrown off the pillion seat in the fast lane of the M62...I was quoting his words for 'the most corrosive metal possible'.;-)

The third was a purple jobbie with a Kuryakin (sp?) hyper charger thingy on it

incidently, after the bike was rebuilt, with no back brakes, my sons godfather taught me to ride that bike. It was officially the first bike I learnt to ride. Previously I had never sat on a bike, never mind turn the damn thing on 8)

oh and he had a Buell...on that thing something happened to the rear wheel on the slip road on m62. and the belt snapped on that I seem to remember. I can't remember exactly what happened to that as it was years ago, Im Indoors does though, think he fixed that one too

BTW chris I found a pic the other week with Dylan sat on that Harley outside my house....its a sight to behold. I'll show it to you when your round next week.
Matt turned it into a matt black painted ratter of sorts, unfortunately the giant apehangers got broke when they collided with the Toyota:(

This is why there's such an industry involved in tarting these things up, you know the progs chop my ride, pimp my hog, all that kinda stuff.

I suspect its a job creation scheme between the US Govenment and HD.

If they made em pefect in the first place, there would be no Orange County Choppers

That's total BS. Mine was ridden in all weather conditions, all year round, for 7 years. It stood outside uncovered too. The paint was fine, as was most of the chrome (apart from the rocker covers).

Their build quality is actually extremely good.

No its not read my other post. Its personal experience from my sons godfather, and hes owned three. Obviously not everybody has the same experience, just as those that don't have them with the SV
