Hi everyone,

I bought some bodywork on ebay, I've managed to get the seat unit to fit, by cutting down the subframe and re welding etc.

The front fairing goes nowhere near, it simply isn't the right shape, it fouls to many moving parts, including the front wheel!!

So, on monday i'm hoping to purchase the front fairing that JHS sell.

My question is, does anyone know if its suitable for a K3 with Micron hi-level headers? and R&G crash protectors. (These are the ones for the unfaired model)

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks:D

You will need to cut a hole in the fairings with a holesaw to refit the R&G's, the clearance issues with the Micron system is due to it hanging down to low but speak to JHS as they have most likely had customers in the same position as you.

Thanks for replying Dangerous Dave,

I expected to have to cut some holes for R&G's, hopefully the JHS fairing will stay clear of the pipework though. I'll give them a ring in the morning.

Hi mate, I bought the JHS fairings too for my first year. They are dammed good and very sturdy. Yeah you do have to cut holes for the R&G's and I had the same problem as you with the downpipe, but nothing a dremmel didnt sort. I'll see if I can find some pictures for you. Although I did still have to wrap the downpipes as although they werent touching the fairings, they were close and did scortch a little.

Nice one sideshow, some pictures would really help.

I've got plenty of wrap I can use, do you run Micron headers too?

Hi mate, no I run M4 headers, but did have micron ones on my road bike and apart from the diameter they are fairly similar.

Here are the before and after pics. HTH buddy.

Wrapping the exhaust, as said above, is a good idea and it might also be worth painting the inside of the fairings with high temperature paint. I had to do this for my road bike with 2wheeljunkies fairings as the down pipe was resting on the body work, didn't burn though and the yellow paint remained blemish free.

Cool, Thanks.

They look much better than the fairings I had previously. Think I'll end up cutting out a very similar shape for the exhaust. And hopefully it wont foul where the rear cylinder joins the rest of the pipework, like the other one did. I'll give them a ring in the morning.

Thanks again everyone.
