Buying the girlfriend some boots soon (surprise), she's a size 5 (doubt it matters) and only ever rides pillion. Not made of money if ya know what I mean so was just wondering if anyone could recommend some comfy budget boots? Or maybe steer me away from some bad ones?
Cheers, Tom.
EDIT: Ladies are fine to wear ordinary mens boots too? Sorry, first time buying womens clothes!

To be fair, I wouldn;t be going for these race type fancy boots if shes only going pillion. Don;t get me wrong I like the look of them but can't justify the price tag for some of the names.
It depends on how much you want to spend. But I would certainly recommend the Alpinestars Ridge 2 boots or the Roam ones. They are a little on the wide side, but they are very very comfy, exceptionly waterproof and warm or cool in whatever weather you are riding in. The good thing is about them is that they are great for walking around in, some boots out there are great for riding but as soon as you get off they cripple you.
They may not be to her taste, but myself and XXXbadgerXxX wear them
You can find them on ebay from J & S and other ebay shops
The Roams are higher up the calf

Thee Ridge2 are just above the ankle

I'm pretty sure I payed less for my Roam boots last year. I'm sure if you do a google foo you'll find a cheaper pair. I have got both.
depends on how chunky her calves are. take her along to hein gericke to try on a couple of pairs then look on ebay for them lol

Don't know if you'd be at all interested but if funds are of the essence, I have a pair of used traditional Goldtop laydeees boots, size 5, looking for a home, genuine sheepskin lined. Well used but loads of life left.
They belong to the wife of a friend who is sadly no longer with us, so she doesn't ride any more.
There's no rush, just let me know if interested.

As kitkat has said it depends how her legs are. My other half has quite big calf muscle and she sometimes finds she cant do the ladies design boots up.
Shes got a pair of Mens Alpinestars SMX3 Goretex Boots as they fit her properly, only way you'll know is to get her to try stuff on before you buy.
another vote for ebay......... dont pay much, if they dont fit, just sell them.

seems alpinestars are pretty generous overall, the two I suggested are in no way tight, but they aren't loose either

Liz had a pair of Sidi Black Rains before and they were a good fit on her as well.
ive got buffalo ones from hein gericke and they lace up the front but have a fold over bitty on the shin so you dont see the laces. Had them a few years now and they are great. really comfy for walking about in too - lots of bike boots are made for riding only
