Hello

I have tried to search for help on this but all the kwywords I can think of are a bit too common so i'm sorry if this has already been covered.

Basically I'm going to Canada for 12months and want to insure my sv650 for theft only inside my garage. Does anyone know of any insurer which has a policy for this? I was with Carole Nash but they only cover "classic bikes" so its no good.

Thanks for your help,
a1istair.

If it's theft only and in your home garage, would it be covered under your home contents insurance if you declared it ???

most home insurers won't cover anything with an engine designed for use on the roads, or something to that effect

edit: Let me google that for you (http://letmegooglethatforyou.com/?q=motorcycle+fire+and+theft+only)

A response to a similar question in Bike magazine won't fill you with hope of saving some money.

It says a few companies will do it for up to 6 months, but it's no saving on a normal 3ptt policy.

I've spoken to them in the past about this and although they do offer it, they wouldn't quote me? They seemed reluctant to do it unless I had a bike insured with them already. worth a stab though.
