I'm up for it. Andy, add a poll mate. then you have the joy of deciding on some witty options for us to select. I vote we include a Nick Numbers option as he has been lurking again!
Was actually warm and sunny going to work today!
Made lots of noise.

Ooooops.....missed your post. Did it quick so no witty options.
You'll have to make and vote on a poll to change the poll options, I'm afraid.

Me too. What time do you usually meet at the Shire? I'm the Abingdon newbie, so Oxford/Brackley types: where and when would we meet. I'll be coming straight from work, which is on the ring-road in east Oxford.
Well I’m a maybe, most definitely. But probably yes. If anyone is going to be there just after six then I’ll come straight after work, otherwise I’ll be there just after seven.
( fg1 -> my spelling and grammar are perfect. )
( oh look the poll hasn't been rigged ;) )

Nick (Warthog) and myself usually meet at Sainsburys on the south west part of the ring road - then head south past Fox's to Henley and then on to the Shire. I'll PM you my number so you can give me a call if you want to meet up or just send me a PM. I'll be at work till 5ish so any time till then I will get email. We usually aim to leave at 6:30 but we can fit in round you if needs be.
Andy - you in the car or bike tonight mate?
walkaboutandy
27-01-09, 11:23 AM
Yes, i'm on my bike.
Just managed to keep it upright on the way to work. -1, black ice and freezing fog..........Nice!
See you at 6.30 @ Sainsburys.
In true GM tradition, I will be turning up in the car again.

Ah, hey mate, sorry I couldn't remember your name! Yeah, meet us lot at the Sainsbury's car park on the southern ring road here http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=A4074&daddr=A4130+to:51.517129,-0.77179&hl=en&geocode=Fcw0FQMdGivt_w%3BFT86EwMdZgHw_w%3B&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=2&sz=15&via=1&sll=51.516328,-0.777712&sspn=0.019415,0.038452&ie=UTF8&ll=51.618017,-1.014175&spn=0.309947,0.615234&z=11
We usually meet at 6:30 but I am flexible, I can do earlier if you want as I am planning on eating at the Shire. Phill, Andy and JustaTrick, post your preferred time below. Mine would be something like 6 I reckon.

I could make 6 at the earliest, but 6.30 is ideal (since 5.30 is Unreal time at work :smt072 :-))

I'm not going to be able to leave work before 5.45 so the earliest I could be there is 6.15.

After hooning about for a couple of hours around Virginnia water/Ascot, I found myself at Runnymede so shot up to the shire to see if a meet was on, as was evident there was, nice to drop by, hadn't been for a while.
When I left the weather was brilliant, dry not that cold and the roads virtually empty, with a headlight that now works, spent two more hours riding about (went threw Staines twice....:) ), got back with an ear to ear smile and over all 174 miles done, great fun.
Couple of shots of the bikes Here (http://www.new.facebook.com/album.php?aid=62746&l=4ce37&id=621884134).
Cheers Mark.

And we were glad you dropped in! Huge turn out for a wintery january. The roads weren't very slippery, but a gritting truck seemed to have done its business on our exact route home 5 minutes before we rode it, so it was a bit slidy on the grit. I just really can't wait for the summer.
JustaTrick, did you get home ok? I knew you were going to peel off at some point but I didn't know where and couldn't see you go. Hope everyone else got home ok.
Finally managed to wake up on the way back
The CCM is coool.
Edit: Good thing Mark got the camera out before I parked the wrong way and ruined it all....
I got home fine. Bored to tears but fine non the less.

Yes, that was your evening as a whole, but how was the journey home?

Cheers for a good evening everyone. A bit short on left over though, come on guys, help the student out :p.
Good to meet you Mick, hopefully see you again at the next one!
I had a wicked ride home actually, was a bit slippery but loads of fun getting the back end to snake off the power coming off roundabouts.

Yeah sorry, just really can't wait for summer! I forget that I know that road so well that I know where the overtaking points are in the dark even. It must be much harder the first time down it in the dark.
