View Full Version : Things are going well for once.

As some of you may or may not know I'm in the process of becoming a cager for my commutes. It started today with my car theory test, while I was 95% sure I'd past I was more focused on beating my motorcycle theory test. For the bike test I got 49 out of 50 for the multiple choice and 60 out of 75 for the hazard perception.

Went in for my car theory and to be honest I thought I had fluffed 3 or 4 of the question so the idea of beating my previous scored was very slim. For the hazard perception I did start getting a bit click friendly and started to worry that I might be clicking too much. While I had done well I didn't think I had picked up the hazards quick enough to beat my bikes score.

After I'd done both parts, the optional questions, clip and the feedback questionnaire I signed out. When I asked the man behind the desk what the time was so I could put it on the sheet I realised I was in and out in under a hour. This has no real significance until you consider that 55 minutes is allocated to the question side of it alone.

But anyway when I got outside I opened it like Charlie open his wonka bar on Charlie and the chocolate factory did. Did I pass? Did I beat my score from last time?

Cause I did, 50 out of 50 for the multiple choice and 62 out of 75 for the hazard perception with the pass mark being 43 for the questions and 44 for the hazard perception. So I come home, had a breather then phoned the instructor that passed my brother and mother to see when I could get some car time. At this point I was expecting it to be a week or 2 at the least, but my first lesson in a car is for tomorrow at 7:30 PM! I hope he's got good insurance if he's letting me loose in his car at night!

You wanna buy my car Seggons? :)
Congrats buddy. I did rubbish on my theory test both times but just scraped through.

Consistantly Average is the story of my life :)

I always think if someone who is only ridden bikes before gets behind a wheel as a learner is going to scare the crap outta the instructors with some full throttle antics :)

Want to pay my insurance to drive it? Group 1 car, worth £200, TPFT is around the £1000 mark. It's laughable. :D

Tee he he. I just have to remember to not filter and remember that I'll have at least the width of 2 bikes next to me. :D

Nice one Scott. I've thought about doing car lessons but as I have no intention of buying a car there's not much point in spending out on one.
Congrats :)

It might not be a 4X4 but I'll make sure it has knobbly tyres for it. :D

Well done you:cheers:

We are plagued with learners doing slow manoovers in our estate. No more!!! Sometimes a bit of distance is a good thing;);):D

Would you prefer me to come down and practice a few handbrakes turns in the estate? Or perhaps I could interest you in thee art of the rolling burnout Sir? ;)

Well after everyone and their nan asking how it went you'll have to suffice with a brief summery.

Overall it went well, no curbs hit, no stalls and no use of his dual control or grabbing of the wheel. But it all did go to pot at times when it come to down shifting, checking mirrors, turning on/off of indicators and shuffling the wheel.

My instructor has booked me in for 10 hours of lessons (2 hours every Tuesday) with my test being on the 11th of March all being well. :D

I failed but I passed. :D

Confused? Well long story short coming to a roundabout with mutilate exists with white painted lines everywhere I fluffed it up. He said straight over and I straight away got in the wrong lane and continued in the wrong lane on the roundabout. I was about to follow my choice through until he shouted at me to keep going round.

Luckily on the 2nd time round I nailed it but all hope was gone for a pass. Kept my head together got back to the test centre and he told me I had passed with 5 minors. So just as I was feeling good he give me a right royal telling off. Some of the things I agree with, others I wouldn't of but I kept quite, agreed with him and walked away with a pass.

So to sum up, passed, 5 minors, time to save up for a cage. :D

Well done, it took me two tries for cars and four for the big bike.

Don't forget that your first cage should be fairly cheap in case you drop it........

I was in the same boat as you, but it's a bit on the expensive side to run a bike both for work and pleasure. Plus I won't go to any town centres on the bike for fear of something happening to it while I'm away.

Don't forget that your first cage should be fairly cheap in case you drop it........
