Does anyone regularly feel like they've eaten enough food?
I never do. I could always eat some more
I'm not fat or anything. I'm skinny. But I think if I ate as much as I want I'd be fat.

aye but I have a quick metabolism. I'm skinny, but, the amount of food I eat, and in particular what I eat....by now I should be huuuuuge. I need to eat little and often, which usually means stuffing my face at random all day.
On the other hand my fella is 'stocky' and eats very little all day, but will eat a large meal when he needs. He puts weight on quickly, and eats far less than me.

I am never full and am a total binge eating pig - so I have to do shed loads of exercise to maintain my 13+ stone 5'8" body.........

I wish I wasn't such a piggy but I am.

5'11" / 1.8m, 11st / 70kg - so skinny - and permanently hungry.

DarrenSV650S
27-01-09, 10:28 PM
I'm 11 stone and 5'8" but I have a bit of a belly

The people who said they love food like me - Would you say you ate properly?

dizzyblonde
27-01-09, 10:44 PM
I'm 5'7/8". I weigh around between 9 and 1/2 stone, and 10.
Apparently my BMI is 22. which is good. My eating habits vary between being a health freak to terrible. Depends what sort of mood I'm in. I eat shed loads of chocolate, binge it in fact, I could eat you under the table with it. have superior teeth, thyroid is fine, I ain't diabetic. I don't drink much and I don't smoke. I don't do much exercise these days, as i stuffed my body up years ago doing that. I'm hypermobile, so I can't just run off down the gym and pump iron or go on a tread mill, as I'm likely to dislocate my shoulders or pop out me knees. SO I LIKE BEING A COUCH POTATO!!!
However I run around everywhere, and my walking is like someone doing a trot

Some people say you are what you eat. I say what a load of codswallop.

If i was what i ate, i'd be a bag of tesco value mint imperials... my staple diet :D

Sally
27-01-09, 11:03 PM
My diet is poor, only have 1 minimum pieces of fruit or veg per day..

I like my fish, pies, burgers, chips..
Cant be good for me..

dizzyblonde
27-01-09, 11:09 PM
I think I am as skiiny as a chip.....but then chips are full of fat aren't they.
I'm not particularly musclular, so it must be something. I don't lose wieght, and I don't gain it either, so who says eating what you like is bad for you?
Ok, so i am over 30 and I am all of half a stone heavier than 10 yrs ago if that, but then I've also had one child, my diet hasn't changed at all in that time.

Anyone watch the Horizon (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00hbsk2/Horizon_Why_Are_Thin_People_Not_Fat/) programme: "why are thin people not fat?" I missed it but plan to watch it tonight. Might explain some of the reasons behind weight gain? (or in yours and dizzyblondes case - not putting on weight)

Im quite physically active and eat a balanced diet (3 regular meals a day) but snack on whatever I want. It tends to be healthy stuff like fruit during the day but biscuits/cakes in the evening for a sugar rush  ive always been the same weight: 8st - 8.5 (5ft 4).

dizzyblonde
28-01-09, 09:54 AM
ahh I'll watch that later. Looks very interesting.
I think these days that 'experts' are absolutely obsessed with five a day, and BMI and all that. Some folk don't eat five a day, its stupid. I'm lucky to eat five a week (well thats if I think slightly about it) its probably more.
I'm more likely to eat 5 bars of chocolate ;-) come on I do work at willy wonkas :-)

Exactly. IMO, everything is good and bad for you. Some of the food and drink in the "healthy" category can be bad: Drinking too much water can kill you, eating too many apples can damage your teeth (due to the acid attacking the enamel). Similarly, some of the food in the "bad" groups are good: dark chocolate makes you happy, a glass of red wine is good for your heart.

Just eat what the heck you like as long as its in moderation

ahh well, did you know that something in chocolate can actually be better for your teeth than most people think. I'm sure MrAsH, may be able to enlighten us on that. Apparently some kind of chemical make up in chocolate eats the plaque on your teeth, something like that. AAHH thats why my dentist thinks my teeth are marvellous and loves looking in my mouth, I'll never make him any money he says, and my sons teeth are some of the best in halifax that he treats..for a seven yr old!
Also as it has a high dairy content it is also full of iron. While I was pregnant, they expected my iron levels to fall drastically(they said I was very pale) hahaha i had the last laugh, my huge intake of chocolate gave me massive iron levels, which was very good for me :-)

A little off topic there, but relevant, not all bad food is bad for you ;-)

I'm just shy of 6' and my weight varies between 12.5 and 13st and has been this way for about 10 years. I was about 11st when I let Uni in 1990 but that was because I couldn't afford to eat as much as I wanted to :-)

Generally, I eat and drink what I like..... must have one of those constitutions, although in my defence I do get a fair bit of exercise each week. Makes me sound like a dog, which is a fair reflection of the life I lead at times

Mrs Jabba reckons I'm part crocodile.... eat loads in one go and then won't eat anything for a while afterwards.

Folks are often amazed at how much I eat... I tend to get 2 large meals from the Thai van outside work for lunch and still hungry after! Just a shade over 6ft and skinny as a rake so not sure where it all goes, but i'm determined to enjoy it before it all goes wrong and the metabolism slows down!!
Tempted to go to the states and try one of their insane burger challenges!

My metabolism has slowed down over the last 3 years i was 7 1/2 and try as i might couldn't but weight on i'm now 9.5 stone but its suits me so i'm told i would like to get down to 9 stone but we'll see

so far today i've had a cheese muffin, and four crackerbreads with pate on and its not even lunchtime yet!!

my fruit and veg intake varies i will eat fruit if i can but veg tends to be of the frozen mix kind as even if i start with good intentions the veg goes off before i use it

I tend to eat whatever I feel like eating and usually have 3 meals a day but I admit I sometimes accidentally miss breakfast or lunch (one or the other, never both though!) My weight fluctuates between 8.5 and 9st and doesn't seem to do much else, been like that for a few years now. If I start to drastically put on weight, as in notice the difference (don't have a weighing scales in the house lol) then I'd do something about it but until then I'm not too bothered. Life is far too short to obsess about weight, I have more important things to think about like enjoying myself

I like food. Which maybe the reason I'm overweight (6"1 and 14 stoneish)
Started going to gym every weekday lately. Play football on a Sunday.

I've cut out the vending machine at work in favour of two pieces of fruit and pretty much completely cut out chips and anything like that.

Don't eat much chocolate.

Don't drink that often, but when I do I tend to have a fair bit...

See if my weight startsd to drop...

I find that i burn off my breakfast quite quickly, and right now i feel quite weak after my 7.45 bowl of porrige. I can eat massive portions of pasta, and i always finish my meals the quickest, though i don't exactly wolf it down.
Quite often if i have a late start to the day, i usually just have two meals, breakfast and dinner.
My BMI is around 23. The only time ive been overweight was when i was about 10 years old, but i was never obese.

I'm the same. I found even when I had breakfast I was hungry before lunch so I stopped having breakfast for years. Started again this morning with a bowl of some wheat-based and fruit cereal and I'm just starting to feel a little peckish.

I could also eat pasta all day and I'm generally the first to finish, unless my Dad's there.

Pasta portions are ridiculous. One packet of pasta is supposed to be TWO portions. I normally have one and a half packets or even two. Once i was really hungry and i ate about 500g of pasta from a 600g bag.

Very saddening it is to see girls wasting away :(

Especially when they are 8 year old children. Luckily I dont work with them, think it would upset me far too much. Its also due to an element of wanting to gain a sense of control over thier lives. For example they cant control other things happening but they can control food.

Anyhoo, I wont bore you lot with that (or derail the thread)

12st, 5' 10ish. I eat fairly healthily, it's the 20 odd pints a week that are the problem!

I just watched "Cant stop eating" on channel 4 (catchup time)

On the whole, its really disturbing, but personally, I feel quite a lot of sympathy for those affected, not to mention the admiration of those who are helping at the residence
