I prefer the shape of the 750 to be honest, the side fairings and seat unit look nicer (in my eyes)
Cant fault the engine CC increase though.
I agree the 750 looks nicer. It's also more comfortable and a hell of a lot easier to ride.
But it wasn't scaring me - it was fast, but never gave me the impression that it'd bite back. If I wanted something docile yet functional I might as well have stuck with the SV that preceded it ;)
The crack in the walls got worse i think!!
Nice bike though, thats a K4thou is it?? Are you looking at any goodies or keeping it standard?

Ya, K4 thou.
The pic was taken halfway through fitting an R&G tail tidy and I've got a Pyramid carbon hugger on back-order. Might fit a double-bubble as the standard screen really is very low.
Other than that, I doubt I'll bother with any mods at least for the time being. It looks fine, handles well and goes like buggery so why bother. :)

Looks Well nice BTW.

But it wasn't scaring me -
it would have been hell of a lot cheaper to learn to move your wrist a bit quicker;)
You could have saved a fortune by simply fitting a smaller front sprocket and larger rear to the 750, and then dropping 10psi from each tyre just to add a bit of '1000cc bike hard on the gas on a bumpy road' instability.
That would have made a real man of you.

+1, a 750 should be quick enough for any situation really if you use the throttle properly. Horses for courses though I guess! Nice bike(s) :)

Both K4 on 04 plates.
Plate's missing in the photo because I was halfway through fitting a tail tidy. And then it snowed, so I still haven't fitted it.

Was it more scary than a SV though?
Was it more scary than a SV though?
I'm not sure anything'll ever be quite as scary as the first time I rode an SV over a hump-back bridge. It must have taken about 45 minutes for the forks to settle down again.
Oh look. A gixxer. Don't see many of those around.

You cheered up yet?

I really like those year GSXR's; I'd love the 750, but how good would a thou' be for mile munching?
Might get a 750...put a topbox rack on it, heated grips, tall screen. Be the worlds most excellent supersports bike. Fast and practical
But then again
its a suzuki
whats the build quality like on that year GSXR? my dads K6 has some questionable quality on some bits, but overall not bad

After a whopping 100 miles on the thou I'd say the 750 probably makes a better mile muncher. It's more comfy - far less weight on the wrists - but still has the midrange to make an effective tourer. I took mine on a camping trip in Belgium last year and it was an effortless journey.
For playing silly buggers, otoh, I expect the thou to have the edge. Away from the org, most of the people I ride with are quick riders on thous (10R, GSXR, R1 etc) and there was a noticeable difference in terms of how hard my left foot had to work compared to theirs. It's time to level the playing field.

Dunno, finish isn't even on my list of things to worry about - if it was I'd have bought a Honda.
Nah, who am I kidding? ;)

The K3 and K4 GSXR's have the best build quality, not a fantastic build quality as they are still on the usual Suzuki and Kawasaki cheap component material list.
