NOW SOLD!!!
Following on from this thread (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=123198), I'll save myself the hassle of parroting the previous post so here we go:
----------------------------------------------------
K5 DR-Z400SM, first registered Feb 2006, 2585 miles
Originally purchased from P&H M/C by another forum member, purchased by me Sept 2007
The good:
3x3 mod done
James Dean Jet Kit installed
Forks rebuilt and hard chromed due to stone chip Dec 2007
Official suzuki handguards / exhaust heat shield / luggage rack
Goodridge braided lines front and back
ThumperTalk Case Savers
R&G LED brake light
R&G crash bobbins front and back
Rim Tape (removable if you don't like it)
Suzuki service history, oil last changed early this year at 2300 miles or so
New Varta battery this spring, remember to use an optimate!
The bad:
Fell off earlier this year, there's a thread somewhere - minor cosmetic damage on mirror, both crash bobbins, footpeg and brake levers plus barend and handguard
Bar mounts were damaged meaning the bars are a few mm out - should be easily fixed with a new pair of mounts but it's un-noticable once you're moving and if i were going to fix it i'd probably just upgrade to the renthal bars they fitted to the K6 and onwards bike
-------------------------------------------
Want to upgrade to a D675 (pending test ride) this year so this and the SV are going to be sold
All original parts are included in the sale as are three number plates, the one in the photos, a 7x5 and the original 100% legal plate for MOTs / producers / blocking out the light from the sun. Always garaged (as all my bikes) and anyone who knows me knows I take good care of them
She's now SORN'd and in the garage awaiting a buyer, i could probably Tax and MOT her for the luck winner assuming you buy the bike
Pictures are on my photobucket (LINKY (http://s488.photobucket.com/albums/rr243/ktm_wolf/DR-Z400SM%20For%20Sale/)) - They've resized them so if anyone wants original 2848x2416s or photos of specific parts let me know and i'll work something out
A cursary browse of biketrader and MCN reveals nothing on the cheap side of £2500, and certainly nothing with so few miles, delivery can be arranged at cost if you want to do the MOT yourself or tax it later in the year
I want £2100 for her
Reply below or PM me if you're interested, quoestions / inspections welcome:cool:

I cant see much damage!
that's cause there's not a lot, and it's basically cosmetic, couple of scuffs here and there and the bungs are knobbled, anything that got scraped is pictured in the album so if it ain't damaged there it ain't damaged on the bike
i guess it's all relative, i wouldn't say i'm as obsessive as kwak but i like my bikes to look clean and generally tidy:cool:

I've got my test on Monday, I'm still in big debate about either a 125, (around a 400) or an SV.
I may be interested, will let you know but nothing is for definate yet :). Have to persuade the parents to free the garage for me which isn't an easy task. I'm just short of Leicestershire so wouldn't be much of a problem.
These are approx 39bhp I think I read elseware? So I'd need to restrict unless it already is or my assumption of 39bhp is wrong? It seems petty, but insurance for me is high in the 3 figures.
Cheers,
Jam

Insurance is going to be steep on anything if you've just passed your test, especially if you're not old like me (well, 24 anyway) - FC for me on the SV for my first year would have cost me about £700 if it weren't for a freeby offer from suzuki
my advice would be to fit some heavy duty handguards and insure it TPFT, that's what i did and tbh the type of accident where you write off a supermoto you'll probably break yourself pretty bad too
the figure of 39bhp gets banded about a lot, personally i think they're optimistic, getting 40+ out of a DRZ requires a serious pipe and re-jet, i'd say 33bhp is probably a fair estimate of the stock power, however the jet kit on it's own might just tip it over the limit...
leicestershire isn't too far and we have relatives up there so i'm sure we could do a deal, as for garage space just do what i did, turn up with the bike and wait for the penny to drop that "oh, you're keeping that in the garage then" - that was two years ago, now i have three in there and i've carpeted the floor so it's pleasent to work out there:mrgreen:
good luck with the test:cheers:

Yeh I live in (<--- Nuneaton), the side I live basically tickles the outskirts of Leicestershire.
I've done quotes looking about £700 - £900 as I'm 17.
I'm considering that tactic, but if it will fit down the side of the house thats a second resort.
Have saved the thread to faves so will get back to you asap, hopefully the snow goes away for Sunday practice, Monday test!*

What would you be looking for delivery to here? My post code is CV11 6EF if you want to Google map it.
tbh mate, if you don't mind waiting a couple of weeks so i can organise it into a day up with the folks to go see the relatives i'd do it for what it costs to drag a trailer over with the car on the ferry, which is about £25

Well I rang up yesterday and asked when they would be likely to be booking it for (can you tell I'm impatient?) and she said we don't do the bookings, I didn't know what to say but then she went on to say its some place in Newcastle who is responsible for the re-bookings.
But I understand that a fair few people would have missed out because of the weaaaaaaaather, so could be a wait :(.
My reason for not buying before test is it'd be sitting there starring at me asking to be riden which is torture..

Hows the sale going Mark? I'm still utterly disappointed at failing.
However, if I had the money I'd buy your SV over the DRZ, beauty but tight times.
