are they HDR?

Yes all of them :) I want to get a grad ND filter but as i am only borrowing this lens i didn't want to buy one if i didn't like the lens... i used a Sigma 10-20mm lens on my 400D with a polarizing filter so to get all the exposures right i had to HDR them...

I have decided that i like the 10-20mm so much i am going to get the 17-40mm for my 5D mkII (the 10-20mm only fits my 400D which works out to be the range of the 17-40mm lens on a 5D).

Do you have the normal pics to compare? Those HDR's always look so fake to me

That is because HDR are fake LOL... All these are taken with 3 shots at different exposures.. i think one of them is a 5 exposure HDR. I have transfered all the originals onto my hard drive now so will take a look when i load it up for the originals.

Not in this case Darren. The pictures use HDR to good effect, enhancing it and not destroying it. Sure it looks a bit surreal, but not over the top. I personnaly love the execution. Well done Sam.

Hey Sam, just visited your site. Top notch. Very professional looking. You seem to prefer Canon cameras. I'm looking at upgrading to a digital SLR from my Canon G6 and am trying to decide between a Nikon D40 and Canon equivalent. I'm not a pro but enjoy snapping photos of my friends bikes and fixing them up in photoshop for their websites etc. I'm a bit biased towards Nikon as my dad has got loads of Nikor lenses but love Canon and find their pictures sharper.

I dunno. I think when the scenery is that beautiful it just isn't necessary to "enhance" it. It's almost insulting, like your saying the normal picture isn't interesting enough. I know your not saying that but that's the impression I get

If i had the right filters then i wouldn't have needed to do the HDR, the ND filters allows to take a picture on normal exposure but the sky had been graduated down by 2 or more stops on the camera meaning it does not get over exposed and cause "blown highlights"

I use canon as James (Rigor) bought me my first canon dslr when we first got Lupo in 2006, we bought various lenses for it so when it came time to upgrade it seemed silly changing to Nikon. I still use the 400D as well as the 5D mkII.

If you have access to Nikon lenses go with Nikon, I like the feel of Canon cameras but if someone gave me a Nikon i wouldn't say no :) I really don't know Nikons though so don't know which one would compare to what Canon equivalent.
