came off twice this morning too! Up a hill on an ungritted part, span the bike all the way round before sliding down hill about 2m then eventually dropping it. I'm fine, just pretty bad scuff on crash protectors, but hey thats what they are there for. May be leaving the bike here overnight too. Any idea if crash bugs are one crash only things like a helmet?

To anyone posting "Me too" and to the Parent.

If its a > 90% chance that the 2 or 3 square inch contact patch you have is not going to be enough due to bad weather, why ride at all?

The main roads around me are perfectly clear, but I would have to ride over compacted snow/ice to get out of the gated area I live in, then some not so good roads to get to said good main roads.

Which is why was on the bus this morning.

If its a good chance you are going to fall off, why bother ????????:cyclopsani:

Guess where I would be in that situation then :p

As for point 2 - thats what "Common Sense" is for - unstable device on ice = bad :p

Anyways what I forgot to add in my previous post is that I am glad that Everyone who did go out and has posted is ok apart from cosmetic damage.

The one bike I did see out yesterday WAS an SV btw :)

ur signiture is rather fitting for this thread sk!

But how much would you lose if you had broken a collar-bone ?

Surely in this day and age you can divert phones, access email and work from home?

I was working as an IT Contractor at the time I did mine - and it was a nice dry sunny day (but there was literally a bit of poo on the road.:cyclopsani:)

Was back to work 4 days later (which was the earliest I could go back due to New Years Bank Holidays :p)

Hope it all heals well for you.

Hmm yeah I should have stayed at home too. Was going in for 5 hours of lectures and missed all of them yesterday so felt I had to go today. Would have been a +1.5 hour walk and I've no car and the only bus to go to the uni is the uni run buses and they were not running cos of the ice. I made it pretty far, within 100m of uni, so unfortunately fell off in front of 50 or so people walking up the hill. Most embarrassing.
