View Full Version : Karaoke Track Needed!

Right I am entering a Karaoke competition. I have never hit a note in my life and don't intend to start now. However its a bit of fun, and I've said now I'm going to do it.
I have a shortlist of a couple of songs that won't require me to sing that much (see how I think of others), but I don't think that they are going to have them on the night. I've had a word with the landlord and if I can provide him with a DVD of the track then he's happy to let me murder it.
And this is where my problem arises. I would like to get a proper Karaoke version of the song that has the lyrics on the screen in front of me as I have a very bad memory and no timing so really need the help. The trouble is I have no idea where to get it. Which is where you lot come in...
Can someone suggest where I might get such a thing? Downloading would be preferred as I can burn the DVD myself but if I need to order it then so be it.
Oh and the track? Its a gentle one by Tenacious D.
Ebay can sometimes sell karaoke CDs.

There are a few websites where you can download freebie karaoke tracks along with a karaoke player.
I'm at work so I can't help right at the moment - but I'll post the details later.

I don't know why you find it disturbing seeing as I used to earn a living from singing.
A lot of these were very good for learning new songs - or even for using as a basis for my own versions - produced by me with Cubase either in the form of a midi / audio backing track or scored for when a backing band was available.
Anyway, I'd have thought that to most people it is nowhere near as disturbing as the thought of someone running around in 'strange' clothes waving large weapons around in their spare time !! :p

Well you learn something new every day :)
Kinda makes your Forum Name make a bit more sense now................
I guess I have a certain quality expectation when Karaoke is mentioned - and its low, and the picture of you as "Karaoke King" down your local after a dozen pints was scary.
But I see now that was wrong.
And theres nothing wrong with leather, chainmail and rubber-clad weapons, thank you very much :)

Anna if I pull this off I'll get you a vid.
Saoralba, I would be after something like an acapella version, or the video with lyrics, or ideally the two combined; anything that will help a tone deaf alcoholic make a fool of himself at his local.
From one MoFo to another pal; you know the consequences of not delivering ;)
