Guys I am selling my SV thou as I have been Banned :(
I am seriously gutted and love this bike, but as a banned driver you are not entitled to insurance and I don't want to risk someone nicking my pride and joy and losing the value.
She has been meticulously looked after since I owned her, and had a lot of visual upgrades.
Alarm, Tyres, Fairing, smoke screen, 2-1 Race Exhaust system, and other little tweeks.
She is on about 12k and T&T is for another 6 Months - She is kept in a garage every night and gets valeted regularly by the chap from Mo-Clean.
I am looking for £3100 ono

You can get Fire and Theft insurance on a ban, and that is a modified (to one can) OEM system with a Yoshimura bolt-on.

Dave do you work in insurance - If so can you help me acheive this.
I have called all my brokers for insurance and non of them are legally allowed to give me insurance as I do not hold a license (because of the ban)

Get a family member/mate with licence to insure it in there name.

Speak to Ed, he's a solicitor I think. I don't work in the insurance game, its a load of BS.
My brother in-law (to-be) has 3 months of his ban left, his car and bike are insured for F&T theft as some bugger tried to nick the car a while back and buggered the lock which has since been replaced.
Get a family member/mate with licence to insure it in there name.
Another option

Copied this from the Ducatisti site I'm on.
Yes that is correct and until the bike is registered no insurance company will cover you.
What you need to do, like i have done in the past is take out MCE home contents with which they will cover a bike in the garage against a value so long as you can provde a reciept. It's not like regular insurance as they are classing it as contents providing it is locked and in a garage.

Thanks guys, Will look into the home insurance option.
I do not think I am able to insurance in a friends or families name as the bike is registered to me.
or does this not matter?
On the other hand I may not insure it - as I won't get the no claims anyway - and get one of those huge ground anchors put in the garage.
I would be really sad to see her go - especially after betting my flat mate on his TL at the weekend hehe - The TL is an awesome bike too, infact nearly bought one but they are slightly dated now, although a lot more interesting in my opinion.
on another note - does anyone have any examples of insurance hikes after a ban - or any advise on some advance rider training to help reduce insurance afterwards - was thinking about bike safe to start with - not sure if that helps insurance or not though
How long have you been banned for. I might be able to help with a bit of secure parking if you get in touch.

Don't trust him George! You'll never see it again.:twisted:
lol, you pays your money you takes your chance.
I do have access to a bit of secure storage though. Working on a military establishment can have its benefits.

Ok, I'm closing this thread for now until George has done some insurance research.
George650, PM me if you want this reopened. ie If you decide it's still for sale.
Cheers
