View Full Version : Ain't nature wonderful?
Really pleased. Got a new feeder for thistle seeds for the finches at the weekend. Sitting here at the PC looking out of th ewindow, and there are 2 on the feeder and another 2 in the tree waiting for a go. Fabulous creatures.
Go on, show us your birds.

Seriously considering an air rifle. Not for the squirrels cos I actually find them quite amusing, but for the clucking pidgeons. ****ting all over the bleedin place.

I the last 7 days weve had on ours:
Lesser spotted woodpecker
Bulfinch
Long tailed tit
Blue tit
Great tit
Coal tit
Chaffinch
Nuthatch (loads)
Goldfinch
Greenfinch
Goldcrest
Sparrow
Wren
Blackbird
Waxwing.
and unfortunately... sparrowhawk
I'm filling it at least once a day at the moment with special mix that the other half gets from work.
I might have to take it down for a week if the sparrowhawk gets clever. He did last year and ate anything that came to it.

The squirrel in my garden hangs upside down for hours nicking all the food. No matter what we do or where we put the feeder, it manages to eat it. Or break it. Bah, given up now.

Same here, and I thought I'd been quite devious with placing the last one.
Wrong, emptied overnight.
