Yo, I've got some Northern monkey's coming down to mine sometime on the Thursday evening.

Then on Friday morningish I'm off to pick up a trailer, bring it back and load the bike on it before hooking it up the car and setting off as early as poss to avoid traffic.

So, I'm guessing you don't want a Land Rover in tow (although it'll only be slightly slower than an SV ;) )

Don't know if you want to speak to Saxo, Girth and Stewie (aforementioned northern monkeys). You guys and any others might want to go in convoy :)

Right then:

To those who are using the four wheeled variety of transport, do you guys want to meet and go in our own little convoy?

Not sure about taking bags for people though, will be able to take some but we've got four dogs taking up all the room in the back. We're hoping to have a roof box over the front of the car for a few bags

Oh and Girth... YOU facebook ME.. I can't find you mate

I'll be able to take a sh!t load of stuff if needs be as I'll have an empty van (ish) as I shall have the bikes on a trailer!

Convoy sounds cool, appeals to my eighties side. *Breaker breaker on the 1 9, this is the rubber duck, what's your 20?!*

I might actually have a CB at that point, I do have a pair of radios too, we can play smoky and the bandit on the way tto if you like

Used to have a cb in my car and would swap it into a new car when I got one. Could transmit for a fair old distance and meant me and my buddies (we all had them!) could keep in touch without having to stop to make calls on landlines!! (this is back in the day when mobiles were rather expensive to buy and run!)

I too have a few Motorola pmr446 professional radios as well as some cheaper alan radios!

For the car drivers. I've just been looking at a route.

Route finders come up with this

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j11/Stretchie_/Stuff%20for%20posting/Map2toAR09.jpg

I don't know about you but I'd like to avoid as much of the M4 and M25 as I can. After having driven these regularly for two years I understand they can be absolutly terrible for traffic.

I'm thinking of doing this. Down the M4, off at junction 13 and and up through Oxford and Hemel Hemstead, or could come off at Swindon and stright to Oxford that way. Could even cut right across the M1 and through Harlow. Either way it'll take hours.

I've always found that problems in the direction ALWAYS occur from Reading onwards.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j11/Stretchie_/Stuff%20for%20posting/Map1toAR09.jpg

If you want to meet up in the cars would you be going past mine anyway or would I be going past any of yours?
