Hi all,
As this seems to be a popular mod, and one people often ask about, I thought I'd post up some images of my new shiny fork lowers.
£40 for the pair to be blasted, masked off where required and powdercoated. I'm still going to run a length of protective clear vinyl up the front edge though.
While the forks were apart I also changed the fork oil (12.5w), and replaced the oil and dust seals.

It would be nice to have an uber shiny bike, but keeping the downpipe and front cylinder in good nick seems like a lot of effort, and kinda delaying the inevitable!

Aye, I'd rather ride it then polish it.

Where did you get them powder coated?
Also, any reason you did not get the yokes done as well?

A little engineering place in Windsor, I can dig out their details if you wish?
The bottom yoke had some surface rust, but nothing major. No real reason really, just didn't think about it!

they have done a good job there, I personally would have went black or a colour other than close to standard, but a good job none the less
Sam, let me know where you had them done as I have some footrests and rearsets need doing.

I did think about black (and balancing them with a black carbon end can), and also thought about gold for that TiN WSB look!
I got a picture of my bike into Photoshop and had a play around, but wasn't to keen on the results!
FG1, I'll get the guys name and number and post it here. Are you going to the Shire tomorrow evening?

It would have looked rubbish without black wheels and maybe also a black frame. They look good and'll hopefully last a fair few maintenance free years.

Bonus, noo too far away.
Details would be appreciated. How long do they have them for?

I should be, hopefully on the bike but will take the cage if need be.

It gets easier to keep it clean the more you polish it, i just have to autosol it now, front cylinder isnt a problem either with the fender extender on just keep on top of it and its fine, i ride mine all year round and it still is near enough showroom nick.
Tony, Give me a shout when you want to do yours. I want to do the forks and wheels of my SV too.

I'm afraid my opinion is it looks a bit odd... Then again it's your bike not mine!
(nice looking bike at that btw)
