I managed 3 miles and my hands were in agony. My circulation is so poor. Oh well atleast it'll be summer by the time we do the penine massive ride out.

My coldest parts of my body were my feet. I think i may need to invest in some decent socks.
Anyone recommend any........

Get hiking socks not biking socks. My mate bought some oxford biker socks and says they're worse than tescos. I'd get some decent hiking ones. What boots are you wearing. I'm hoping my feet'll be okay in gtex boots.
Hope you rinsed all the salt off when you got home, else next time you go in the garage, all you'll find will be a pile of rust where the SV used to be
Spokey

Yes we went but we got there just after one, i thought the auction was on in the afternoon and then shut at 16:00.
But it turned out that the auction started at 16:00.. So no there wasn't that many there when we were there :smt089
The roads weren't to bad, we just took it easy.
The big carpark at Big D's was like an ice rink but the small one was ok.

if you want warm feet without buying heated socks these ... http://www.x-socks.com/product.php?cat=21&area=41&id=284291&XSID=e8665c84cf4d72a2afab0fe7056fa8c9 are the next best thing! sell loads of them in the shop i work in. they work brilliantly, bought my mum a couple of pairs for christmas and she says they work. tried them once myself and they are good. they are expensive, but well worth it.

I went out for a potter around... 30 miles was enough for me, only my hands were cold, but it looked like snow was looming...
