Thats now 6 weeks in a row. Every single week this year i've washed my bike, the dirt and grit and salt is rinsed off during the week, then she gets a good wash down at the weekend.

6 weeks in a row now its been washed, and 6 weeks in a f-ing row its either rained or snowed on the monday, thus leaving cleaned bike a total state again by the time i get to work.

Im seriously getting fecked off now.... :nomore: :smt013 :smt076 :smt097

Its even making me think of getting a car, thats how p1ssed off I am about it.

That is very annoying! I cleaned my bike before I put it away last November - pulled it out to go to the EAR Christmas meal and it was in the worst state I have ever seen it when I returned - very demoralising :(

Get a car ;)

Its just the fact its every bloody week, monday morning, before i've even got on it, its raining or snowing. It could at least give me a few days dry weather. Least let me have a clean bike for one day. But no.

RE snow, I ride in snow. It makes riding interesting. More fun that in the rain. :p Im hardcore.

Just fedup of having a dirty bike that needs cleaning every bloody week :(

I rode from Newcastle to Manchester last night it heavy snow. *Not* fun at all. What was most difficult is when the condensation on the inside of the visor froze, and I couldn't see a bleedin' thing. Opening the visor on the motorway in sub-zero conditions wasn't much fun either ;)

I am not whinging about getting wet.

Im whinging about the fact that i've spent 1-2 hours giving my bike a proper clean over from all the road crap, salt, dirtr and grime

Only to have it trashed again withing 2 minutes of riding nice clean bike

6 weeks in a row

Every monday morning.

Can I not write english or something, as it seems everyone is banging on about that they prefer rain to snow? Or are you lot jsut not reading?

Im no girl, getting wet doesn't bother me. 6 weeks having a clean bike for 1 night, to get trashed the next day does.

awww booo hoooo, count yourself lucky you can get out on your bike at all. I can't get my bike out for the foot deep snow that is encasing my back garden, hmmmm dig it out you say?? Well I would if that didn't include the other three neighbours gardens that i have to get through to even get to the road...

Washing your bike at the moment is a luxury, mine has been sat in filth for a couple of months now, I don't class the tepid water and mild soapy stuff i threw at it a fortnight ago a full wash. My polished rims are getting corroded, the downpipe is not shiny:(:(:(

Its not as if I can drive either...
Can anyone guess its like cabin fever in here, think I might start rattling my tin cup up and down the gates in a plea for mercy!

I'd quite like to be able to ride my bike in order to get it dirty, but I'm not allowed to at the moment.

would you like to stand with me and rattle your tin cup up and down the gates too?? At least when all this cacky snow has gone I'll be able to get out. How long are you to stay off the bike for?

Dunno till the physio therapist tells me I'm allowed to, I've had a metal plate put into my wrist after I broke it on holiday. Operation was done on 22nd Jan and it'll be 4 - 6 weeks before I can take any weight on it. My hands not strong enough to even pull the clutch in at the moment.

I can empathise with the cabin fever, as I couldnt drive much for the first few weeks, but I've been able to since they put the plate in as I can rotate my wrist now and I'm not snowed in either...

Damn sorry to hear about this. Hope everything goes well and you recover soon! At least your not missing much as far as the weather goes. ;)

When I got hurt it was in July 06, the hottest summer ever I think... All over the time I and the bike were hurt!!!! Grrr.

I can remember you'd had it done from the thread about it a few weeks back, but my memories still like a seive:(. 4-6 weeks don't seem too bad, if the plate stays put and all is well. You'll be back on board in no time:cheers:

I ride my bike every single day. My job is not at my house. I don't make excusses due to snowfall that I cannot make it in.

I rode in the snow. Read last weeks posts.

Washing my bike in 1-2 degree temperatures is a luxery???? You can quite easily fill a bucket with water (cold, as warm water reacts more with salt), and sponge it off. If you can't be assed, thats your lazyness :p

Indeed, that would be clever.

Suzuki components you are saying are of high quality???? Ever left a suzuki for a few weeks?

Ever tried to remove some bolts if elft to be dirty?

Ever heard or rusting electric components if left dirty?

Thanks, but I like to look after my thousands of pounds worth of bike. Im not rich enough to just buy a new one when one stops. Its a long term bike, so I look after it.

Clearly you've never washed a bike, only to have it dirty, before you've really ridden it, every single week to know how much it infuriates me.

My jobs not at my house, I too use my bike to get to work at 4.30 in the morning, in the freezing cold etc etc. I don't make excuses when theres snowfall to go to work either. Its not the rain that is the problem, its the cack on the roads thats giving you the problem. may I suggest getting a hosepipe and hosing your frustrations away;) with a jet attachment to make your cleaning time quicker.

But right now, i'm on holiday:cheers: even so, washing the bike in 1-2 degrees is a luxury, I have a bike cleaning and polishing fetish, and I can't get out to do it, with a foot of snow covering everything... That is a frustration in itself me dear. Its not as if i can ride it in the house and pop it in the bath !

Daimo, why dont you cover your bike with ACF-50 and then not bother washing it through the winter ? Should help keep the rust at bay. Just depends if you like having a minging dirty bike or not though...

Weeks? What do you think I am, some kind of amateur?

I leave them for months! I'd leave them for years if I actually kept them that long...

Please read post properly and you will see I already have to rinse it off every few days due to road crap. ;)

And I had a showcar which i'd spend 8+ hours a day cleaning. I don't mind cleaning, as longas I get a few days CLEAN bike worth.

Its every monday for 6 weeks now. Which is what has ****ed me off.

And guess what, tonight, ITS RAINING again.....

And I ran out of juice 200m from the garage, in full kit, balaclava, the lot. So now im sweating my nuts off.
