I'm from leicester, 26yr old girl! Who is a mega short ****!
I passed my restricted acess back in september and the SV seems to be the only bike (after some messing with) i can touch the floor on!

I'm after a 55 plate onwards, naked in black!!

I'd advise getting a lower seat. Try http://www.tonyarcher.co.uk/. A f##k sight cheaper than OEM lower seat, and it won't mess up the handling like lowering the suspension will.

Lowering the seat won't be enough! I have sat on one with a lowered seat and could only just reach! I'm happy to lower the back front as well! The way i look at it is i can't ride the bike the way it is so i won't feel the difference in handling!

Trust me i am short! LOL

well you are in good company on this site. Lots of shorties. Some models of SV are higher than others. I had a curvy and could just reach the ground with tip toes. Amanda M is a shorty too 5"2 i think and she didnt lower her curvy either. Now I ride a raptor and can reach the ground with flat feet, gives me so much more confidence.

my SV used to be restriced. Handled the annual rideout well with my girlfreind on the back and a loaded topbox, and I've had it cruising at 105 for a fair few miles. It's a very usable engine restricted, more so than some other bikes (points finger towards restricted GSXR600's etc etc)

btw Bear, he;s a lovely man, gentle and kind and just brilliant

I have Speedy Claire's lowered pointy in the garage. She has longer dog bones, lowered seat and the forks dropped through the yokes 10mm. I can measure the seat height if you want.

another thing to do would perhaps PM Law. Hes an imp, and he had his SV lowered, I'm sure hes shorter than speedy even. Or maybe one of the soho lot might fall upon this post and be able to give him a nudge, as hes not in her every often anymore.

Hes shorter than me by a long chalk, pretty sure Clares taller than him.

Mind you as said its all to do with inside leg. I'm 5'7 (sure i'm an inch taller than missYC) but I don't need a lowering kit, my feet sit flat on the floor on a standard SV, I still have the balls of my feet on the floor on one that has a jack up kit on it, but its uncomfortable....:-)

If you`re only 4`8 i`m really not sure that you`ll lower an SV enough. I`m 5`3" and even with the maximum dogbones, forks dropped and a lowered seat my feet aren`t flat. Your legs might be longer than mine but even if they`re a few inches longer I`m not convinced you`d still manage. Best of luck tho and pm me if you want to know inside leg measurement etc.

yup your right Stu, the raptor is an SV lump. Not to sure about what it has surrounding it, but if its anything like its big bro, then you get brembo brakes, and upside down forks, and a much better shock as stock. You sat on ours at the AR..and I seem to remember you proclaiming the seat was 'knee height' :-D Apparently the handling is much better, but like its big bro, you don't see many about that often for sale :-(......or i'd have had one of them as well :-)

you are tiny, as the raptor seats are very narrow in the front. More narrow than the SV stock seat in fact
