And no I'm not talking lingerie  :-D
Idea from another thread and seeing as Lozzo as happy to "admit" he has a teddy still :-D (not that its something to be ashamed of of course!)
I absolutely hate dolls with a passion, ESPECIALLY those horrible porcelain ones with the funny eyes, yuk. Teddy girl through and through
Were you a teddy bear kid or a dolly girl (or guy, there are such things as action dolls!) ??
I have a 'teddy'
But its really a cow..
Still have it, mam hand knitted it for me when i was younger..
Need to get a pic.. haha

My teddy is a dog called Lady cos it reminded me of the dog from Lady and the Tramp :)
Oh and by dolls I'm NOT talking the blow-up variety either :smt040

ooooo I got a pair in the loft that you'd absolutely hate with a vengeance. They are twins, and belonged to my great aunt. They're so scary they are like those twin girls in the shining that stare down the corridor........then you wonder why they are in the loft.
As for teddies....they are everywhere in my house...who says they all belong to Dylan;)
Theres a rabbit one in his room with no fur, no eyes and a dress that my mum put it in when it got cold, I've had it since I was born.
It was my favourite. Its funny cause I used to hide my fingers behind its ear when I was little, as I went to sleep sucking them, Dylan does exactly the same with his little sea lion....won't go to bed without it...and its getting as threadbare as that darn rabbit!
I had a little koala bear that I used to love.. My sister got it for me when I was a toddler and it was bald and missing paws ten years later. Don't know what happened to it :(

Exactly what I used to do, I knew Dylan did it but didn't know you too, must be hereditary? My mum doesn't do it though, she just thought I was strange haha. I loved teddies with long ears so I could do it, bit of a comfort thing. Took me ages to wean mesen off it though  and I really wish me ma had stopped me from a young age as it forced my teeth forward a little

I was adopted and the only I went with was a yellow bird called chooky bird. It's threadbare now, my daughter loved it when she was small too, and she's 14 now. I think it's the only inanimate object that I'd be upset if I lost.

my mum did everything she could to stop me, from binding my fingers in plasters, to putting that horrible no bite stuff on my nails. It didn't do anything and eventually i stopped, it hasn't pushed my teeth forward though. I try to stop Dylan doing it all the time, even hid the damn sealion, and Bob once ate it,which i promptly sewed up hoping he wouldn't notice its face had changed face[-o<...so far nothing stops him either:( he just finds an alternative until the favourite one appears.

At this point I have to come clean. Though I've had that Panda for nearly 47 years, I never played with it as a child. It just sat there on the shelf or lobbed in my playpen doing nothing. My ma tells me I was never interested in it.
It was only much later in life that I became attached to it and started taking it around with me when I went on holiday or abroad on business. That Panda has been to every country I have ever visited, and then some more cos my ex-wife took it with her to Saudi Arabia, Israel, Dubai, Kuwait (though I've taken it there mysef when refuelling en-route from Singapore) and a couple of others. It's the only item, aside from my birth certificate, that I've owned from birth.
I had a furry elephant called Elly-boy. He was originally pink, but by the time he finally fell apart around 10 years ago he was fur-less:D
I remember when I was 8 my Godmother bought me a huge doll for my birthday............in a box, dressed as a bride:o It stayed in the box until my kid sister was old enough to play with it. I hated girly toys. I had action man, and cars, and all the good 'boy's' stuff!
I now have a collection of sheep................and one Nessie:D
I have a little pink elephant that was my first present when i was born. My sister got it me.
I was going to let my niece have it when she was born, but I went and got her her own teddy that she can keep.
I also have a lot more teddies which drew made me throw away before the move...... but i kept all the important meaning ones!

What a coincidence, I have a Nessie too! And currently sat on me bed
My mum used to love getting me dolls, she'd get me one in a posh box and then be most disappointed when she noticed it months later sat on the top of my wardrobe collecting layer upon layer of dust

DREW that's just plain mean! Just someone try and take my teds just you try! :-D
Not one person for dolls yet, does that mean there's a link that arises from an early age? If you don't like dolls you're more likely to like bikes? :-D

I hated girly toys. I had action man, and cars, and all the good 'boy's' stuff!
I did too, but I had two brothers and fifteen million pieces of lego to build spaceships with, and hotwheels etc.
Now I get to play all over again with 3 giant Megablock pirate ships, 15 million skeleton pirates with various limbs missing, hotwheels and garages:mrgreen:....and I even get to steal action men to put on my bike:smt083
I'd have been so disappointed if I'd have had a girl cause i'd have had to put up with dollies and prams, and barbies(which I used to make bald as a kid)

in fairness to drew........... i did have 3 bin bags full of them  Don't blame him really.

I have three daughters, all of whom are very gurlie. Christmas was spent building up Barbie houses and other crap. My poor son hardly got a look in cos the girls were so demanding. Good job he's a happy contented chappy.

My daughter never had a doll, pram or Barbie ever. Chip off the old block, bless her!:D

if i say yes bananaman, then i'm admitting my bike is a pile of twisted, hammered scrap metal. which its not.
so then its a no, because it beats a heart of a v-twin throb. so its alive.:p
so in conclusion there was no real need for my post and i'm more confused than i were before, or am i.
but then i didn't vote, you did.

I have ots of teddys, I love Tatty Teddys :)
But my 2 fav ones are a little dog I have that sits on top of my TV in my bedroom and a horse that sits on the leather headboard above my head when I sleep at night !
I am a big softie when it comes to teddys, love em all ! Nowt wrong with it.
Usually get my fella one but darrencjones has told me in no uncertain terms he don't do teddies so he won't be getting a cuddly creature tomorrow (miserable toad) :)

I've got a teddy but it's really an owl called Olly, had it since I was born. It's now got a few bald patches, only has stuffing in its head, one of it's ears has a hole as does one of its feet. It's now approaching 30yrs old.
My eldest daughter has got a few teds (mainly dogs) and barbies she's very girly, not sure what Libby is going to be like yet?

Id definately vote Teddy on this one. I had a monkey called "monkey" (how original ) and I went everywhere with it. It has really long arms with velcro hands so you could stick its hands together. It even came abroad with me! Its now safely in my loft with various other teddies I accumulated when I was younger
Talking of dolls...I hated them. My nan got me a china one with glass eyes and it used to freak me out loads. One night it got so bad that I got up and shoved it in a box in the cupboard. The next day I made my mum put it in the loft. I was convinced it was staring at me and would come to life.

be careful now, they'll be cutting a hole in your roof for a little daylight.:D
I had to vote keithd because I was a teddy, barbie, starwars action figure kid (though I had to buy 'boys' toys with my pocketmoney).
Now all my toys are airsoft guns, LARP weapons and one Mace Windu (Pimp mah) lightsaber.
I'd be distraught if I had to get rid of any of 'em... But most of all my desert eagle. :smt071
Most disappointing thread ever :smt090

I'm 39 years old and I still have my cuddly squirrel from a child. My daughter has a beanie bear which she keeps with her at all times.
When she has a bath the bear has to be in the bathroom as well!

Very interesting to see how many people like their cuddly toys, just goes to show you never lose your inner child

your not unique there tanis. all wives and girlfriends spend more money on useless articles than they do on their huntergatherers.
