Put the alarm into service mode, you can then disconnect the battery with the alarm going off. It will emit a small chirp every 20 seconds or so whilst its in service mode though.

On my datatool, it was ignition on, hold down the "arm" button till the alarm beeped at me. Then turn the ignitino off and wait a few seconds and should emit a quiet beep to tell you its in service mode.
I'm not sure what model yours is though so I'm not 100% certain its going to work...

You are missing the point Mr Gr33k. Kwak needs to disconnect his battery to facilitate the permanent Optimate lead fitment. He wants to do this without causing alarm mayhem.:D
Hey Kwak, I thought you were getting out on your Gixxer so often you don't need an Optimate. :D

To permanently disable alarm, so it doesnt give a beep every 20 mins once in service mode, put the ignition to "on" and hold down both the grey and black buttons together for 10 seconds until the alarm emits the beep. Now you can remove the battery! Also very useful if you're not using the bike for a long time, because in this mode the alarm doesnt drain anything from the battery.
But once you start the bike again...the alarm gets reactivated.

I am confused, I thought service mode was the one where (S4 Red one) you press to arm (2 flashes of the indicators) then press the other button and it flashes 3 times and then it's immobiliser only.
But that obviously doesn't work if you want to disconnect things (I assume), so what mode was that/what was I doing?
To fit my lead I just made sure I didn't break the connection - the only thing you need to take off is a screw on top of the terminal, you can keep the loom, etc connected if you are careful!

Its much easier with the harness on, saves taking the seat on and off.

talking gixers fizz, i had a right problem getting the fairing panels loose when trying to do the oil change yesterday? like a bastward jigsaw! in the end i left them on and struggled getting my hand's through gaps in the fairings to get the filter off? one fairing bolt down by the sidestand rounded off completely :(

I've never taken mine off, I dont do the servicing on it, I bought 3 year service plan, for the price of a two year, when I bought mine so its been dealer serviced all its life.
I think they'll be glad its run out now as I've done alot more miles than they were expecting me to and they always moan about it when I take it in to get it serviced.

get some wd40 on them fairing bolts lol mind you it didnt do mine much help.
Mine was fairly easy to remove, but it probably isn't the same shape as the 6/750 one. Main thing I found was that the press-in studs were very tight fitting, but once I'd found the little fasteners down at the front (1 for each side) to detach the sides from the lower cowling, the side practically fell off. When it comes to disassembly though, its about 4 or 5 pieces of plastic in your hands.

yea i seen them at the front under the headlight, its just the one bugger that rounded off that stopped me:(

I'm guessing it's an allen key bolt that rounded off for you Kwak? Same happened with my 750, but on the heatshield on the exhaust. Well, I didn't let it go too far, I stopped because none of the 3 would budge, the heatshield doesn't need to come off anyway so I just left it on. Fairing's a different matter obviously!
I've taken my fairings off to change the exhaust, but didn't really have any problems. But then it's done 2k miles and been in the garage since September so I didn't expect any issues...

Transit mode. It just turns the motion sensor off.

Ah, ok. I should read the manual really! I just use it so it doesn't go off when I'm poking about with it, as if I nudge it, it goes off!
