Hey all,

As a few of you know I moved from the UK the year before last to sunny Sydney. Just got a new job contract and it is signed and sealed so as long as my visa comes through, i'll be heading off to Wellington, New Zealand!

This time I have decided to take my bike with me rather than lose a packet and I'm looking forward to the fabled NZ roads :) Oh yeah!

I'll still be around on here, but if any of you find yourselves over this side of the planet then give me a shout :smt023

Take it easy

Enjoy Luke, that's the south Island IIRC?

I'm moving myself again, only 50 odd miles down to Rotterdam though, at least I'll be nearer the Ring.

Nice one... Will be over them parts (Auckland) for 3 weeks at Christmas visiting the folks. Not sure if we'll get to Wellington, but will be touring around a bit.

Enjoy windy Wellington.

ooooo give us a good review when you've settled in. Its one on the list of emigration destinations 8) Got friends over in Auckland but they can't give me a bikers perspective.

What do you want to know?

As well as having looked into it, I have "resources" :p

sounds great, good luck with it. not trying to put a downer on the roads, but i have heard their speed limits are quite low and their enforcement of them harsh. you'll need to find a stealth mode button ;)

Standard speeds are 50kph in town and 100kph as NSL - but others can be applied but not above 100 - so thats 30mph and 60mph

Interesting bit is

Important

If a driver exceeds a permanent posted speed limit by more than 40 km/h, there is an automatic 28-day licence suspension.
If a driver exceeds a temporary speed limit by more than 50 km/h, there is an automatic 28-day licence suspension.
