I actually feel sorry for the lad, he hasn't a clue! People asking him how much nappies are, what 13 year old would lol! And his dad's had nine kids, she's got 5 siblings, woweee benefits galore!
I don't agree with the publicity though, there was no need for it to go to press. Especially with photos :( They've taken advantage of the fact he's a young lad and not thought about the implications of being in the national newspapers and magazines. Must have been a bit of cash involved...
Good luck to 'em both, suppose this is what family is for.

could the father and the child both be nursery and school at the same time?
grandad said that his 13yr old son is quite responsible:smt102, and that he could've just shrugged his shoulders and carried on playing on his playstation.:smt043
young father said he does recieve £10.00 pocket money, ah well the childs education is sorted anyway.
a 12yr old girl had a crush on my eldest boy, and her mum said one day to me at school 'they need to spend more time together alone'. i dont blooby think so was my reply. really......

I suppose young parenthood has one advantage, they'll mature a lot faster now they have early responsibility. He'll have a ten year old kid by the time he's 23, bound to put a bit of a dampener on things. But hey-ho, should have kept his c0ck in his power ranger y-fronts.

WTF? How does that work then?

I thought that, put it down to ignorant Sun journo.
some lads develop quicker than others I guess, he must be one of them lol.
But the definition of puberty is becoming sexually mature (i.e capable). Unless he had hit puberty he could not have got her pregnant.
now awaits medical correction of just when boys become capable of having sex and impregnating a woman.
The headline should read:
Children raised by poor parents.
Why? Well...
“I will talk to him again and it will be the birds and the bees talk. Some may say it’s too late but he needs to understand so there is not another baby.”
That's why.
The kid if fscking 13, has had s3x, and hasn't had the birds & bees talk yet? My daughter was told that by 8!
The article also has the guts to refer to Alfie's parents as "mum" and "dad." Mother & father, perhaps.

According to The Sun's website the quote goes as follows :-
"And Dennis, 45, said: “He could have shrugged his shoulders and sat at home on his Playstation. But he has been at the hospital every day.”
The article goes on - "He wanted to be the first to hold Maisie after the hospital birth. He tenderly kisses the baby and gives her a bottle"
Not quite the slant that you put on it Genie !!

It ****es me off this- was talking to someone in work today who hasn't told her daughter about sex yet, because she's only 12. Muppet.
I feel so sad for that wee boy, he's a baby himself. Wonder if she will be prosecuted for sex with a minor-you gotta wonder if she was 13 and he was 15 if that would have happened...
I was a dad for the first time at 19, and that was too young.

The 12 year old will probably know more than her mother, so what's the point

No prosecution forthcoming.
The police,CPS and social services always look at the individual cases and assess whether it's worth prosecuting. In a case like this, I believe they made the right choice in not prosecuting as it would not help anyone.
It has probably saved us some money.

[The] News of the World has compared the situation to Channel 4 drama Shameless - only with "the total absence of anything remotely funny".
So it's exactly like the TV show then:confused:;)

My Salford nephew and his girlfriend produced a nipper when he was 14, she 13. His family had lived on benefits all his life and my initial thoughts were along the lines of what a wasted life and the circle turns.
It was a hard time for them. 18 years later, they are still together, He has worked full time since the day he left school and they have a further 3 kids, own their own home/car/bike etc.
Just because somebody makes a stupid mistake as a kid, don't condemn them. Hopefully as in the case of my nephew they can come out of this positively.

Just because somebody makes a stupid mistake as a kid, don't condemn them.
Indeed, it can be the making of them.
It might now even be his baby. Did anyone see the papers today? I didn't read it but the People had an aritcle on him wanting a DNA test. I hope it is his baby though, he doesn't look capable of it.
Yes, I've just read that two other boys have come forward to say that they might be the father.
That poor baby.

Yes, I've just read that two other boys have come forward to say that they might be the father.
That poor baby.
Now that does not surprise me at all.
My wife and I was talking about this yesterday, we both agreed that the girl has been sexually active long before the boy was.
We also recognised a familiar face. The girl looks like a couple of women we know that have had children at a very early age. Neither one of these women are exactly what you would call intelligent and they have never worked a day in their lives. I would hazard a very big guess that there is a genetic trait in there some where. I don't actually know much about the girls family other than it's large!
As for the boy, well he is young and has a family that lacks intelligence and common sense, but he may have a better chance in life now that he is in the public eye.
In my honest opinion.... neither one of them should be near that baby.
However I understand that they should be given the chance.
I hope the best for the baby and that the boy and girl grow up better than their parents.
