How can you tell?
How can you tell?
Scientists will tell you that due to the way a rainbow forms, and the fact it's technically an optical illusion, not an actual object; that you cannot possibly reach the end of the rainbow. Mainly because they move away from you just as fast as you move towards them.
Pilots will tell you that a rainbow seen from above is circular, and therefore never actually touch the floor.
Some people will tell you that they've been in the base of a rainbow, and some of those will have photographs. The scientific reasoning for this is that it's a light pattern similar to rainbows, but not an actual rainbow (Tomato vs Tomato IMO).
But then, there's also some people that will tell you they've been inside a UFO & had something done to them that the U-rating prevents me repeating.

but he said it was on the move, 20-30 mph which would fit. I've watched rainbows and they do move pretty fast sometimes.

Also, the sun *has* to be behind it.

Not quite, but the rainbow has to be 42 degrees from your line of sight to the sun.
Also, the sun *has* to be behind it.
Don't be so daft, it was "The Mail" :D
