I think I'd certainly change the water to a brown colour...

There's always one that spoils the fun aint there? :(

Thought TBH, I was expecting it to be someone like Miss_YC (interest in marine biology), because dolphin fins are rounded at the back. Sharks have a straighter fin.

I was sailing a one man(child) dinghy when a fin broke the surface in front of me. I was tooscared to turn the boat around as it was so windy even though I was heading out to sea

Plus the tail flukes are horizontal (rather than vertical as for sharks) which made me suspect.

Still - cool shot though.

It's still a cool shot :-D If I was that surfer I would assume it was a shark and freak out and try and get the heck away..! Don't think I would be calm enough to sit and work out if its a shark or not, lol.

Happened to me once in Byron Bay. My abiding memory is that my mate was between me and the "shark" so would have been eaten first!

My dad was swimming in the Red Sea at Jeddah IIRC, and his mate started shouting and waving for him to get out of the water, he was histerical..my dad looked behind him and saw a whole load of fins

..,he was pleasantly surprised when he realised a whole family of dolphins had come to inspect his swimming :-)

the one in the pic doesn't look to be a dolphin's dorsal fin, it's got too sharp a point to it but that might just be down to water distortion...either way a very good shot :-)

sharks dont tend to eat people anyway.. they just take a bite and let go.. humans must taste like crap lol,.. i bet if one was hungry enough it would though

We humans did not evolve in the sharks habitat. You cant learn to eat something that isn't there.

There are many species of shark. They have evolved to eat all kinds of marine life. We humans are not marine life.

so if your used to the chippy then one day took a bite of grass and dirt by accident.. youd spit it up too (id hope)

yet cows and horses eat grass.. lol,

Apparently sharks will only attack you when your wet. Stay dry and you should be fine.
