Could someone with more knowledge than me please help

I've borrowed a tiny laptop for a few days - its a ASUS Eee pc 4G. I've had one at home before and I've had no problems connecting it to my home BT wireless modem. Just put in the key and hey presto!

But this one just won't connect! I brought up the wireless networks and put in the key and told it to create new connection but it gets as far as 'pending' and stops til it times out. It's also got Mozilla Firefox on it - don't know what that has to do with anything.

Can anyone help please??

my daughters got that ASUS Eee pc and it connects no problem to my Netgear router, is it linux or windows? Firefox shouldnt make any difference.

I can't be sure which tbh. The Asus website says it's Windows XP but I can't find it on the machine!

A previous one I borrowed connected no problem

it'll be Linux because you'd identify windows no problem, is the wifi function switched on?

sure you getting the key code to access your router right lol, sounds silly but i fixed a lappy for someone the other day and they said since i fixed it they couldnt get onto the net? turns out they were inputting the wrong key.

mmm dunno then? are you in range of the router for a good signal? ev now and again i need to turn my netgear off and back on again to re set it, its shows a good signal but wont let me connect.
