Someone bought me a pint of Guinness for Christmas ( in a presentation box with a pint glass ).
I've just drunk it .... BLEURGH ... how the hell does anyone drink that stuff ... AWFUL ...

I think it's nice. Kind of tastes like wood in a glass, in a nice way. But it has to be really really cold.

Its lovely, smooth, creamy, lots of flavour, nice burnt aftertaste, takes a few pints before you acquire the taste though, and it needs to be drunk in a pub where they keep it properly and not out of cans.

To be honest I don't really drink these days - I mostly have some Bud in the fridge, and a bottle of Southern Comfort in the cupboard - but it gives me a bad head if I drink more than a couple of bottles of bud, so I tend to stick to Earl Gray or orange juice :mrgreen:

Guinness tastes like liquid smoke - you can have it ..

Try the proper stuff, in a place that sells lots of it- much nicer stuff that way.

Bottled/ Canned Guinness is crap, don't bother :p

i agree that the cans taste terrible, but also try not to drink any of the head as its bitter and nasty the black stuff underneath is what you want!! Although this method will leave your top lip very messy!

its nice i like it, nice and smooth, i don't know why but i seem to love old man drink, stout, ale ect ect :confused:

Guinness has to drunk from Draught and you are supposed to drink it through the head. You must keep the head throughout the whole pint.

It is an acquired taste though.

i can drink most stuff but not that.

Guinness is manky and gives you really big trumps.
However it is very pretty when your pulling a mix of it with cider in the right way.... it forms waves as you pour the cider in, or is that tha other way round, either way they seperate in a pint glass 8)

I tend to mix 1/2 pint extra cold with 1/2 pint normal guinness, put the extra cold in first, so by the time you come to finish. The pint is nice and chilled all the way to the end.

OR

You get a bottle of Wkd (any colour (or any alcoh-pop))

Pour bottled drink into a pint glass, then when it has calmed down, slow pour the guinness over a spoon into glass so it settles on top of the other drink.

You get a lovely 1/2 pint of guinnes with a huge sugar rush at the end.

Ha I actually saw that but knew that you had to drink Guinness that way waaaayy before I saw that.

A few years ago me and my friends had a competition called the Darling Beers of May. Whoever drank the most different Beers in May won. We learnt alot about beer that month. Can't remember how many I managed but it was around the 200 mark. We had to write them down on a sheet of paper and it filled an A4 sheet.
