Out on a ride today to try out a route i've got planned for later this year.

Leaving Nottingham the weather was nice(ish) so i donned the leathers and tinted visor. The further i headed into the Peaks and the more altitude i gained the foggier it became. However i soldiered on to get some nicer weather and drier roads. The Snake Pass (a.k.a. A57) is a lovely little road with brilliant views all the way down.

Lay-by nearer the end of my descent on the Snake Pass.

Despite this looking like i parked in the middle of the road there we're in fact cars also parked just out of shot, making the bike safe and sound.

Hope they're all not too dark.

Now for the good bit, a nice rideout surprise for a route very similar to this one here. All welcome...

Thought it was you I'd spotted going through Hathersage - the fog on the top of the snake was horrible though when we got there.

Thinking about it i remember nodding at you both now.

I saw sooo many SV's. There was a lovely fully faired yellow curvy with nice sounding twin pipes(i think) just before Matlock and a pair of pointies (turquoise(ish) and one black IIRC)

Was a good ride despite low cloud and fog. Posed a new challenge.

Which part of the A57 did you do?

Sheffield to ladybower or Glossop to ladybower?

I did the A57 on tuesday and there was over a 1ft of snow :p

That would explain the standing water all the way across then ;)

We did Ladybower to Glossop, then down to Chapel-en-le-frith and across to Stoney Middleton
