hi all
advice on full moped test? thinking not much point, only reason i want to do it is so i can take L plates off. Other reason i guess is that it makes me do my motorcycle theory asap so then i can do A2 in 6 months.
just looking for opinions, feelings, etc (price of moped practical test?) towards this approach.

I was tempted to do the same..
I ran my bike without the front one after it fell off, then took the rear one off too..

Seems a waste of money just to get the L's off, but the extra training/experience with an instructor wouldn't do you any harm?

How much does it cost just by the way?

Does passing it make any difference to what and where you can ride? If not I wouldn't bother, especially if you're going A2 soon.

If doing your theory is an incentive, it lasts 2 years, so why not do your theory but save your hard earned cash for a test on a proper bike.

Just my opinion, and not a particularly informed one at that :D

may aswell just do your a2 instead get a couple of lesson's or however many you need then do your test moped tests kinda of a waste of time since it's just for taking the l plates of and nothing else.

I paid £320 for;

CBT with Bike Hire
Restricted Access with Bike Hire

Theory - £35, I'd do it soon before price rises again, mates did theres in summer was only £28. (Student + Credit Cruch, every penny counts).
Practical - I'm borrowing the bike, I paid £90 as I beleive thats with hire too.

They say like 7 - 8 lessons, I've probably had 8 now, but I'm waiting to do my test after previous one last week was cancelled, and they'll still happily have me there (I think).

You can do the theory test, as stated above, before you are 17, get it done whenever you have free time/cash, valid for ywo years..

Cant see the moped test being less than 50, more like the same cost as CBT...
No websites give prices, as no one realy ever does them..
The instructor will probily tell you its a waste of time..

That is where I do it, they gave me bike on Sunday for my test on Monday, did a few laps round the A5 through lanes just to get use to bike again as hadn't road for 2 weeks. All prices are indicated on there.

I paid about £500 all told. That was for CBT and DAS, using all the instructors kit and bike. Worth every penny IMO as it was a really good standard of tuition. Dont think its local to you but http://www.electricstart.co.uk/id8.html . Cant recommend it enough.

Id do the theory test, and aim to do the 33BPH test as soon as you are 17.That way you get a full unrestricted license two years later when you are 19.Concentrate on that and save your money for buying decent kit.
