i have recently bought a black seat cowel for my blue curvey SV (its in the post still!) and i thought it would look good with the pillion grab rail removed....
however, where the grab rail sits on the fairing either side of the pillion seat, it has damaged the paintwork. It looks like water got in between the rail and paint and it looks like a right mess (i can upload photos later).
Just wondered if anyone has had a similar problem before and successfully repaired it. The paint damage looks quite deep, hard to describe until i can get photos up later!

On a simialr note, do any filler plugs exsist to fill the gaps where the grab rail would be? just so there arnt any unsightly gaps!

sometimes, as I have found on both of mine, its dirt, and not the paint that has got ruined. If you try giving it a good spit and polish, maybe some t cut you may be lucky like me, and it disappears.
As for the 'saddle shutters' as they are called 'I think' dunno bout them, I don't use them...sorry.

yes, they are about £30 from banditmania
but, you can make them, out of a bit of ally or plastic, i used a asda curry tray;)

if it is just lacquer damadge on your bike, wet flat it gently with 2000 grit until the damadge disapears, when it is looking matt and clean give it a good hard buff with a bit of t cut and it will bring a lovely shine back to the lacquer.
