View Full Version : Torque Settings - Spark Plugs & Oil Drain Bolt
Found a service manual for a K3 which says the torque settings for the spark plugs is 11nm and oil drain bolt is 21nm. Would this be the same for my K6?

personally I would say never use a torque wrench for these, in over 30 years of using spanners, I have never stripped a plug or drain thread. But have had to pick up the pieces when others have.
Do it by feel. Neither are fasteners, they simply need to be tight enough to stay put.

No do not torque a spark plug. Read the back of the box. IIRC it's finger tight then 1/4 turn or something to seat the crush washer, but check because it could be 1/2 a turn.
Use a little copper slip on the threads.
Sump plug, as above.
To be honest I thought it was a bit OTT for torque settings on these parts but just wanted to be sure.
