I am gonna try blooming hard to make it fit! My main worry is cambers and potholes and miss judging and falling over!
i tried a GS500 last summer lowered that meself and dropped it so many times in one day, justcouldn't find the floor sometimes!
We will see!!!
Got a couple of ideas of what i wanna do to it already and yup tail tidy would be second on the list after lowering!

I hope the fitting goes well. Cant see the pic... sounds like its nice though :)
You thought about trying a little 400 screamer (VFR400 or CBR 400 etc?) I really like some of those, and they are made for Japs (small like us) so you might have more luck with that sort of thing, and they do have power 60ish BHP!

Longer dogbones, shaved seat, forks through the yolks and ladystar daytona GTX boots with the uber heels. My mrs swears by them!

You beat me to that one!!
Ah, it looks just like my old SV, sigh.
BTW Lissa, what's a snow shovel? I've seen it mentioned a few times on here. (assuming that you don't mean an actual shovel for snow!)

Theres a Hyperpro lowering kit on eBay right now , you can get peg raising kits as well , loads of seats turn up that have been lowered as it is a popular mod for the laydeez . Don`t worry about the bike with camber and stuff once you are on the move you will be fine .

And I thought a lady never revealed her age! gosh you're old :p
Better get it to fit before you get excited with mods. That's not lowered because it would sit a lot more upright on the side stand if it was & there's loads to scoop out of the seat first before you've got a chance of it fitting you.
Good luck

Can you buy an adjustable stand?
When i tried the GS we Heated it up and bent it but it still wasn't far enough over for my liking!!

never seen one if you can. Why would you want to change the stand, surely that would make things even worse for you?
Not sure you'll be able to get a hugger in there once you've lowered it to as far as it'll go

I took my hugger off after my crash (hopefully putting it back on tonight) and it's been rubbing the rear wheel! Big black smear along the top lol.

Forgive me but I don't trawel IB much, by you joining date I take it you've recently passed your test ? if so well done, as said dropping the forks threw and longer "dogbones" wil give a significent lowering effect and most of our more petite members swear by the ladystars.
As to the side stand, Although I've not done it on a pointy, if it's steel just measure to length and chop it down and get a foot welded on, the same can be done with an alloy one, although I don't have the kit for welding alloy so normally drill the bottom of the shaft and tap it; to bolt on a foot (countersunk of course), good luck hope it works out for you.
Cheers Mark.

Claire bought another stand from a breakers, cut it shorter and welded the foot plate back on. Looks OEM. Here is a pic of Claire's bike and it is hard to tell it has been lowered, a credit to the job done by Mototech.

good idea although I think my feathers will be exposed on saturday anyway. Cheers for the tip - I wouldn't have thought of adding washers
RichT, the hanger is an early Evotech I think. I have had it a while and bought it from somebody on here.
I know Evotech do them but I think that there is an additional bit between the two legs.

It looks identical to the early Evotech one I had on my K5S. Later Evotech ones have a support going between the two sides

By the way with regards to the stand, when i lower the bike if i don't alter the stand the bike will stand too upright and fall over, therefore the stand needs to be shortened!
just looking on ebay to buy one, do i need to be year specific???

Nah you SHOULD be fine.
The SV leans over WAY too much as standard.
I never changed my stand & my bike was lowered it just stood upright, was fine (apart from when a zx6r P7 which comes as std with a stand too long was knocked over onto mine :))

we worry about the VRaptor a lot...wouldn't want that thing to fall over, its as stand up straight as a straight up stand. Only have to blow on it and it wobbles:( and at heftier prices for parts then Ducati , we watch it very very carefully. I hate reversing my black SV out of the shed just in case I nudge a mirror or something.
ps I stand mistaken about your test, seen so many noobs on ere lately I can;t keep up with who's done what......its me age;)
