It had 8424 miles when i got it yesterday since then ive done 46 miles today. Quite high mileage for the year, but it was a test center bike so it's not surprising.

That's a mint looking bike, nice. Looks very good for having been used by a test centre!!

Thanks. It is far from perfect, the pics do it a lot of justice. Theres scratches on the fairaing, fuel tank and exhaust pipe. The end of the right hand footrest is a bit broken, but overall i'm not fussed because it's my first bike and i won't be completely heartbroken if i damage it.

Disk Brakes too - who's Mr La De Dah, look at me being able to stop then ?

It'll do the job, but its not a real CG - like my Turkish Built (so diferent from 95% of the CG125's out there) with drum brakes :)

All the best with it - wont need to use it for too long I hope.

Blimey you mean they make new ones...................;)

I though they were all 10 years old and logbook colour designated "rust".

Cheers Mark.

Looks good... are you still doing the training? Or waiting while you get some road exp.

I had the original cg125 which was 25years ago!

Great bike, took me everywhere, never broke down and was lots of fun.

Was my first bike of many

Nice one

I'm waiting till a couple of months road experience before i do the test and training.

That was the last year they made the CG as far as i know. The test center is buying 09 CBF's now rather than CG's because theyre discontinued.

SoulKiss wants me to fall off?
Na seriously, i wont be having it for all that long. I still want an SV, this is certainly my silver medal. I'll have a real bike before the AR.

I havn't even hit 50 on it yet, i'm just going within my limits untill i get more confident.

Looks good matey.

And don't let anyone on here slag it off, they're just jealous your exhaust pipe is shinier than theirs. ;)

My eye detected that someone in your house knows how to cut grass. And that someone (else, I guess:D) used too much sudsy stuff;)

Bike looks OK to me. I'd have liked one of those when I was 17. But I think they had yet to be invented in 1977:rolleyes:

H'mm see my post Ed, I had a CG in 1978, which was only cosmetically different to this, and I got this off my sister.

So my memory has failed me again, I would have been 17, which was 30 years ago, not 25.

CG125's just do what they need to do, and do it without fuss or frills.

Exactly what a learner / town commuter should be.

If I had to do my current commute on a bike, a CG would do nicely.

Enjoy it as it gets warmer!

Through central London traffic:D

It'll make a man of him - and if it doesn't Bear will :)

Of course I am sure the Soho Massive can rustle up a guide to get him in and out of town - mainlycos its usually me (and yes, that is an offer).

Well it's not real grass, so it doesn't need to be cut ;) And the suds are from me cleaning the bike before taking the pics.

Soulkiss, i think i would be pushing my luck travelling to central london on my second ever ride, i really think i need a bit more practice...

Gene Genie - i'm not having lessons at the moment, but i will in a few months and do all 3 days consecutively and then a test.

Over 8000 miles and the fuel gauge is still just below full. Sounds about right for a CG!

good ole cg they are the starting point to many a biker's riding career and you gotta respect it for that nice little machine's plus their cheap to run which is ace think you can get silly mpg outta them.

Central London is not THAT scary/bad - I did it solo about 5 days after getting my CBT on a bike a lot like yours.

Then I commuted on a GN125 for a week, then back onto my ancient Turkish CG for 2 weeks, then it was onto my SV, which on the day after I got my licence I rode to work out near Ealing, then back into Soho, then back to Ealing - I went

Gene Genie - i'm not having lessons at the moment, but i will in a few months and do all 3 days consecutively and then a test.back to Ealing by a slightly indirect route - instead of going West I went South, and kept on going until I hit the M25, then went clockwise to the M4 then East to Ealing again :) so got my ist trial of Motorways on a bike in quickly - I also felt that while the bike was still new I should check that all 3 digits on the speedo worked.............. :)
