I can't answer your question directly because I don't know, but why bother ?

Just go ahead with the good old Snorkelectomy - ie just remove the damn thing !!

Makes more induction noise (mine comes out in the winter back in, in the summer), whether it actually does anything 'usefull'................

No idea but it sounds better :P

Does indeed sound superb (I prefer induction noise to a loud 'zorst), but the dip in power you'll get means it isn't worth it. If I was having a remap after fitting a new can done anyway, I'd definately whip the snorkel out at the same time. :)

Does said snorkel apply to curvys and what is it? part of the airbox or something?

POINTY:

I've got one. Its a straight swap, totally reversable mod. Not as loud as no snorkel, but louder than stock. I have a full race system and a K&N filter and that's plenty loud. Without the snorkel you get a lot more noticable "pock" noises on a neutral/half closed throttle.

I had a remap after. Just a gas tester one, not a dyno. Think it was £30. Runs very smooth and linear.

I thought about tank spacers but there wasn't much point with the snorkel.

If I hadn't got it cheap from a mate I probably wouldn't have bothered.

Yes, but are you familiar with the expression "a can of worms"

Loads of work. Small gains.

Really, mine didn't feel much different... just smoother on and off throttle etc. :-D

Hmmm, thanks everyone!

Dunno if I'll bother then if it just improves induction noise.

I'll have a think.....

Its a two minute job to remove the snorkel completely. If you do want to "Feel The Noize" take the bike for a run don't just rev it where its parked. You'll not get the full effect.

I love the honk. Louder than my pipe!:p
