Does anyone know where i can get some throttle cables made up for my bike? With the TL 1000 clip-ons there's loads of excess hanging off and it looks ugly. I'm after getting a shorter set made up if anyone knows of someone who does it?
Regards

Si.

I'm needing some longer cables. Would a suzuki dealer not be able to get them?

If you have an SV with clip ons you don't need bespoke cables - you need the cables from a faired SV which has...

Clip ons!

Suzuki dealers won't supply cables longer than those which fit their standard bikes, in this case the longest they will have is cables for a naked.

Any idea how much longer naked cables are

If i get some 650s which are shorter, you can have my naked cables if you like.

But yours is a curvy, won't they be different? I'd want to get new ones anyway so they will last as long as possible. But cheers for the offer

Was in the local suzuki dealer today asking about naked cables. They are different and can't be swapped between naked and faired bikes:(

Surely the only difference is in the length. The S and the N have the same frame, forks, carbs, tank yaadee yaadee. The main difference is the yokes and bars, no?

I mean a cable's a cable isn't it. Bit of wire with nipples (snigger) at each end.

Didn't look like it on the parts fiche. Looked completely different. He also said I'd need a new switchgear for some reason.

Jester is right

Why don't you have a look on the parts fiche here for the naked & the faired version.

The part numbers for the cables are going to be different, but the cable ends are going to be identical.

All motor manufacturers are going to use common parts where they can, so throttle twist grips are going to be the same, carbs are the same.

Some of the naked's had a different master cyclinder to the faired, because of the faired clip on postion.

New switch gear? He's havin a laugh.

Just out of interest early GSXR's have the same size bottom & top steering bearings. The small needle bearings in the shock linkage pivot on the swing arm have the same part number as a Hayabusa

I already have. The cable ends are the same but that's about it

I saw longer cables for SV's on EBAY, have a look there.

Seller was selling the high rise bar kits for various bikes, including SV.

He was selling longer cables as seperate items
