hi all I may be getting a new chain and sprocket set shortly and just wondered if the ones in the link are the standard ones...it reads like it is but im not sure..... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Suzuki-SV650S-99-07-O-Ring-Chain-Sprocket-Kit_W0QQitemZ220362512015QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Mot orcycle_Parts?hash=item220362512015&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318

im basically after cheap and cheerful......even if it doesnt last as long as a more expensive set....

thanks for any input

As long as I'm right in thinking DID are a brand and not a type of chain, I've had a couple and have heard of the before so would be safe with them. Not sure about the sprockets though. If it's cheap crap they'll wear stupidly fast and also wear your chain...if it's really cheap crap things might start getting dangerous.

Like all chains, its how you look after them that counts. That set will be fine. No need for anything fancy if money is tight.

cheers lads.....i used to clean/lube regularly and keep it tip top....

then in november i wrote the bike off and 4th d had it for 2 months, at which point i bought it back....seems they left it outside for 2 months....since ive had it back ive not even cleaned the bike let alone done the chain......and after reading some threads on here over the last cple of days i thought id have a look this morning..looks fuggared so im gonna give it a proper clean tonight and see how that goes, but i think i might just get a new set and look after them again if its sub £100, and that price looks ok me thinks

thanks again

In that case I'd check the sprockets, whip the chain off clean it immaculately then soak it in old engine oil.
Go for a good ride out so it's warm and give it a thorough lubing.

Don't know what I'm on about though I neglect my chain far too much.

I bought the same set from them, got it fitted a couple of weeks ago, genuine DID chain and JT front sprocket, didn't see a name on the rear one but it was steel so shouldn't be far wrong. sounds like good advice for reviving the old one though. but I can vouch for the product in as much as what turns up and they are branded parts (apart from the rear sprocket as mentioned)

its from DK anyways, I shouldn't imagine it would be any good for their nationwide reputation if they sold sub quality cheap tat.

DID chains are fine.
